Good Morning, today I will be sharing our own individual e-portfolio.

Firstly this is my experiential learning, the place we got to visit is Da Nang, in Vietnam. I will be sharing
about how I achieve a global mindset.

During the trip, we got to pair up with students from Duy Tan University, so they shared their stories
about school life, social life and lifestyle. I was able to exchange conversation with them without much
trouble as well. These social interactions help me to expand my social capital of global mindset as well.

For my photo journal, the 3 activities I will be sharing are food, learning and activity.

For food, these are the 4 different meals that left an impression on me. As someone who does not
usually eat Vietnamese food, it was an eye-opening experience to be able to try out so many new foods,
and each food's distinct and unique taste impressed me.

The four different foods that I will be sharing are mi quang, salt coffee, pho and a family dinner. The mi
quang is dried noodles with a sauce that is salty with rice cake at the side with peanut sauce. The salt
coffee has a very unique taste with salt foam and bitter coffee that goes well with it. Pho is the most
famous Vietnamese dish, the noodles go well with its rich-flavoured broth. Lastly, the family dinner
consisted of many different dishes from roasted bbq meat, to tomato soup and fried prawns.

Trying foods from other countries fosters cultural understanding, empathy, and open-mindedness. It breaks
stereotypes, connects people, and promotes appreciation for diversity. Exploring diverse cuisines also sheds
light on history, geography, and environmental issues, fostering a broader global perspective.

For learning, I was able to observe the streets, food, shopping and visit the museum during my time
there. I was able to learn about a different culture, history, and perspectives. Pairing up with the
students from Duy Tan university also gave me the opportunity to group together to draw and design a
poster to share about the famous local Singaporean and Vietnamese food. I was able to expand my
intellectual capital of global mindset when understanding and processing the difference between
Vietnam and Singapore.

My video shares about the ao dai, exploring its visible aspect such as its varied designs and colours, which
highlight its aesthetic diversity. Additionally, it uncovers the less apparent influences of the French and
Chinese communities, revealing how these cultural interactions have subtly shaped the costume over time.
Working on the video allowed me to have a better understanding of the ao dai's cultural significance and
evolution within Vietnamese society.

For the activities, my favourite was the bana hills, which was a theme park. It was really fun and we took
many different rides as well. We also visited a local night market which was a nice place to buy things
and get some small bites as well.
Throughout the entire trip, I was excited to learn and understand the difference in Vietnamese food,
culture and lifestyle. Even though it was completely new to me, I was excited and curious to try and
experience new things, especially food since the vietnamese food in Singapore will be accustomed to
Singaporeans’ taste bud, and there may also be limited availability for selected ingredients

Lastly, throughout the entire global studies trip. I learnt alot and grew my global mindset in 3 different
aspects , the socal, intellectual and psychological capital. These can help me in the future since the world
is growing globally. Building connections with people from other countries is vital and important for my
future journey.
