Technology has been in fast phase of evolution in advancement.

People specially the youngsters


has been totally involved and devoted in the use of the technology making life to be greatly affected and
revolving around it. Promoting and preservation of Philippine Culture can be done through recording it in
written and teach it to the next generation and by keeping it alive while we are living.
As a student, I can promote and preserve culture by speaking my language. Language is one of
the great factor in culture identity. There are a lot of languages that went into extinction together with its
culture. Philippines has a number of dialects that we must be proud of and must be shared. I am teaching
my friends my native tongue and discuss differences in our linguistics.
Also, I am well aware of my family’s culture and traditions. Family’s religious beliefs relate to
personal behavior and actions. Through this, I get to practice traditions in many different occasions and
share it with other people even when I am outside our households. This can also mean that what my
family’s tradition and culture are directly connected with that of the community.
Another is about food. Food is the part of culture and tradition that is unique to any places all
over the world. By cooking and indulging in a family’s recipe, it will surely bring back memories of
childhood and golden days as taste and smell has strong connection to memory.
Furthermore, by attending to celebrations and major events. Festivals are one of the most well-
known aspect of our culture. By attending to those celebrations known to your place is a part of
promoting the event and having to understand it and taking part on it.
Being one with other community groups is also an important way of preserving and promoting
the culture. Take time to be involved with other community, have a taste of their food, celebrate their
events and sing and dance along with their people, and also learn their language and behavior. This
develops appreciation of other culture and will make one understand more his or her own culture. By
interacting with other people, one can promote his own culture and exchange thoughts about matters of
difference between. Travel around the country to learn more and understand more Filipino culture.
Finally, make use of the technology. Social media is a powerful tool in promoting culture. With
all the wonders captured in photos and vlogs, it will come to spread in a greater and wider audience
promoting tourism. Technology can be used in the spread of our music, theater plays, artworks and even
in clothing.
Always remember that culture is the representation of the lifestyle and identity of the people of a
nation. As much as we want modernization, we must not be overshadowed by it but rather we have to
utilized it to our advantage.
