Describe the physical features

Two geograpical features of South Asia- Major physical features include three mountain ranges,
three major river systems, and one vast desert. The mountain ranges include the Himalayas, the
Hindu Kush, and the Karakoram range along the northern part of the region. The Himalaya
mountains act as a climatic divider between India and Tibet.

Facts about South Asia- The region is home to a variety of geographical features, such as
glaciers, rainforests, valleys, deserts, and grasslands that are typical of much larger continents. It
is surrounded by three water bodies – the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea
– and has acutely varied climate zones.

Importance of each features in South Asia- South Asia has many natural resources that humans
use including energy sources, minerals, metals, waterways, fertile lands, trees, crops, and
natural beauty that draws tourists. India has natural resources like oil, coal, high quality iron ore,
and ferroalloys

. It is a region of remarkable social, economic and technological transformations, yet it is the


only place in the world where there has been a recent danger that two nuclear-armed countries
could go to war. It is also the front line of our Global War on Terrorism.

Which countries are in South Asia?

.Southeast Asia is composed of eleven countries of impressive diversity in religion, culture and
history: Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the
Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
