1. Not to fear and disheartened because they were being exiled.

Their exile is a part of God’s


plan, and God promise them for their return to their land one day. God wants them to live
and prosper in the city they were exiled in, to made peace with their foreign neighbour and
contribute to the foreign society they currently in with goodwill.
2. The author implied that the audience as a good followers of God who were exiled and
started to lose hope or disheartened.
3. That if we lived in accordance to God’s will, that we shouldn’t be disheartened if a
misfortune came upon us, for God’s plan is never meant to do us harm even when things
looks not the way we wanted it to be.

Application
1. Response: To help them cope with their condition, to be hopeful again and be still in
their faithfulness to God. To live in exile in a good manner, contribute in society they’re
exiled in. For them to believe that God didn’t abandon them, and even in this bad
situation, it’s all part of God’s plan.
2. As the people of God ( believer) that sometimes face something in life that we human
consider as a misfortune.
3. To keep my faith and hope in God. To not be disheartened by whatever happen, and to
live as a good person in the society, even amongst non-believer
4. To keep it as a reminder for myself and to share it with others to encourage them in
faith and hope.
