Automotive is a complex product with a huge number of parts and components (textiles, glass,

plastics, electronics, rubber, steel, and other metals) using several manufacturing methods.
Because the automobile sector is a highly global, technology-driven business with intense
competition among its participants, promoting it can lead to an expansion of many
complementary investments by automotive parts firms.

Presently, the Filipino domestic car parts industry is made up of 256 businesses that manufacture
over 330 distinct parts and components. With four Japanese automakers active in the country, the
industry represents some of the fastest expanding agglomeration economies in Laguna and
Cavite.

The Filipino auto parts industry has maintained respectable growth and contributes significantly
to manufacturing value addition (3%) and job creation (5%). In 2009, it employed a total of
50,858 people, created P28 billion in value added, and invested P5 billion. Auto parts exports
reached US$3.3 billion in 2010, accounting for over 7% of total Filipino exports and a 27%
increase in export growth.

The Philippine auto parts sector has grown steadily and dramatically, contributing significantly
to manufacturing value addition (3%) and job creation (5%). It employed 50,858 people in 2009,
generated P28 billion in value added, and invested P5 billion. In 2010, auto parts exports were
US$3.3 billion, accounting for more than 7% of overall Filipino exports and a 27% rise in export
growth.

 Lipa in its journey to being an emerging city specifically, it presents the urbanization process in
the city particularly the demographic and socioeconomic process with emphasis on the changing
economic structure as well as the living condition of the populace. In addition, it investigates
whether booming economic activities are attracting migrants and creating revenue-raising
opportunities, which in turn will finance increasing demand for basic services.
