(PTW-H) Permit to Work Holders course
Course Aim:
To provide the knowledge and understanding of the PTW procedure to enable delegates to competently
carry out
the role of a Permit to Work Holder.
Course Objectives
1. Understand the necessity for permits to work, including high risk activities
2. Understand function and role of a permit to work within the overall risk control framework
3. Identify the typical contents of a permit to work
4. Understand procedure for issuing a permit to work through A step-by-step flow through how the PTW
system operates.
5. Understand cessation and termination of a permit
6. Understand the responsibilities of the issuer and receiver of the permit
7. Identify potential difficulties and solutions with the permit to work system

Who Should Attend

Anyone who has to manage, implement or use Permit to Work systems. Typically Line Managers,
Maintenance Managers and Engineers, Supervisors, Safety Advisors and those selected to become new
Permit Issuing Authorities (those that issue and monitor the permit to work)
