Conduction:

it is the process by which heat flows from a region of higher

temperature to a region of lower temperature within the
substance. Conduction take place by two mechanism:
a)by lattice vibration: molecules at higher temperature
imparts energy to adjacent molecules at lower temperature.
b)by free electrons: transfer of heat by free electrons, the
free electrons concentration in non-metals is very
low.Hence conduction is found in solids
