The Drum
Star: Eta Piscum Deity: Pūṣan (God of Meetings)

Myth

Revatī is the last nakṣatra that shows the end of the soul’s journey, heralding a new
beginning; this last part of the journey is asking the native to sit back and relax. At this stage,
this person has experienced maximum accumulation of everything, so all they have left to do
is enjoy their creativity to benefit others and themselves
because the word Revatī itself means “the wealthy one”.

This nakṣatra is ruled by Mercury (intelligence) and lies in

Pisces (ruled by Jupiter); therefore, this native possess great
creativity and can be very skilled. Mercury makes them fun
and playful, and can sometimes enjoy being flirtatious in a
child-like manner. In addition, this nakṣatra’s nature is
mṛdu (soft, delicate, pliant, moderate and mild) making this
person kind and gentle.

The symbol of the drum denotes the fact that when you play
it, the second sound will cancel out the first sound; in other
words, to make good music, you have to end one note to
start another note. Moreover, a good drummer must be able to ‘keep a beat’ (time the
pounding on the drum). Hence, Revatī folks are great at time management (keeping a
calendar, event planning, organizing a trip, etc.).

Pūṣan is “The Shepherd” that leads you “home”; he is the God of Meetings, Marriages,
Journeys, Roads, Cattle, and the Śudras (one who labors and toils, offering manual skills
needed by others; repairperson, electrical, bricklayer, carpenter, excavator, farmhand,
mechanic, plumber, etc.). Pūṣan feels responsible for others and provides shelter for those in
need, especially if they are traveling. This deity is known as a “psychopomps” literally
meaning the "Guide of Souls” whose responsibility is to escort newly deceased souls from
earth to the afterlife. Their role is not to judge the deceased, but simply to guide them.

This negative side of this native may be that they don’t like to accept other’s points of view.
