Warm up Activity:
1. Ask students to make different angles with their arms
2. Ask pupils to identify which angle is the biggest angle and which the smallest angle.
3. Point out to the pupils that an angle is formed when two lines meet at a point. An angle is the amount of turning about
the point
4. Go through with the pupils the examples on page 236 and 237 of the Student’s Book.
Middle:
Teacher will tell students that today they are going to learn about angles
1. Recall what a right angle is by one or more of the following ways:
• Point at a corner of a rectangle or square
• Draw one vertical line and one horizontal line intersecting each other. The angle between the two lines is a right angle
• Cut out a quadrant from a circle. The angle formed is a right angle
• Show a clock and move the hour hand to the 12 position and the minute hand to the 3 position. The angle formed
between the two hands is a right angle.
