Summary Movie of Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump is a 1994 American comedy drama film based on the same title
novel by Winston Groom and directed by Robert Zemeckis. The casts are Tom Hanks
as the main character, Robin Wright as Jenny, Gary Sinise as liutenant Dan Taylor,
Mykelti Wiliamson as Benjamin Buford, and sally field as Mrs. Gump.
The story it self starts when in 1981, a bus stop in Savannah, georgia, a man
named Forrest gump sit on a bench sit next to a stranger and tell the story of his life. In
1956, Young Forrest Gump with an IQ of 75 with braces on his leg lives in Greenbow,
Alabama with his mother, who runs a boarding house and encourages him to live
beyond his disabilities. Among tenants on the house is a young Elvis Presley who play a
guitar with young forrest dancing on one day. On first day at school young forrest meet
a little girl named Jenny Curran who become his best friend. When walking home with
Jenny Curran after school three kids bully forrest, with the help of Jenny with shouting
to forrest to run from the bullies he escapes and breaks his braces on his legs and reveals
that he is a fast runner. When he grow up the same thing happens to him, a three man
bully him and Jenny asks forrest to run, but he doesnt stop untill he passes a football
game and get a football scholarship after that. He becomes a top player when on
university, than forrest gets a medal from John F. Kennedy at the white house.
After graduating college in 1966, forrest enlists in the U.S. Army. During basic
training, he befriends a soldier named Benjamin Buford Blue or nicnamed Bubba, who
convices forrest to go into the shrimping business with him after their service. Later that
year, they sent to Vietnam, serving with the 9th Infantry Division in the Mekong Delta
region under Liutenant Dan Taylor. A month after that Bubba killed while on patrol,
Forrest saves several injured soldier incuding Liutenant Dan, who loses both his legs.
Later then Taylor blames forrest for saved him becuse he would rather have died in
battle like his ancestors before him. After returned to the united states. Forrest is
awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism by President Lyndon B. Johnson.
At anti war march on the Pentagon rally, forrest meets abbie hoofman, and
reunite with Jenny, who become a drug-addicted hippie and anti war activist. Forrest
also develops a talent for ping – pong, and becomes a sports celebrity competing
againts chinese teams in ping-pong diplomacy, earing forrest an interview with John
Lennon on The Dick Cavett Show. On 1972 New Years Eve in New York City with
Liutenant Dan, who become an alcoholic. Forrest’s ping-pong success eventually leads
to a meeting with president Richard Nixon. For this event, he is given a room in the
Watergate Complex, where he unwittingly expose the watergate scandal.
After Discharged from the army, Forrest returns to greenbow and endorses a
company that makes ping-pong paddles. He uses the earnings to buy a boat in Bayou La
Batre, fulfilling his promise to Bubba. Liutenant Dan joins forrst in 1974, and they
initially have little success. They pull a huge amount of shrimp and become the only one
to survive Hurricane Carmen, they also able to create the profitable Bubba Gump
Shrimp Company. Liutenant Dan finally thanks Forrest for saving his life. Liutenant
Dan then invest in early apple stock, which forrest thinks is “some kind of fruit
company”, and the two become a millionares. Forrest gives his earnings to shrimping
venture. Forrest returns home to his mother and cares for her during her illness from
cancer.
In 1976, Jenny recovering from Years of drugs and abuse returns to visit Forrest
and gives forrest a nwe pair of shoes. He propose to her, and that night she tells forrest
she loves him. On the next morning Jenny leaves Forrest. Heartbroken, Forrest goes
running for no particullar reason and spends the next three years in a relentless
marathon a cross country then retuning to greenbow. In 1981, Forrest reveals that he is
waiting at the bus stop because Forrest recieved a letter from Jenny, who asked him to
visit her. Forrest then finally reunited with Jenny, who introduces him to their young
son, whom she named Forrest Gump Jr. but Jenny tells forrest that she is sick because
of unknown virus. The three move back to greenbow. Forrest and Jenny finally marry,
but a year later Jenny past away. The film ends with forrest sending his son off on his
first day of school.
