INTRODUCTION

In our current generation, most people use social media, and most of them are influenced by
foreign languages such as Korean, Japanese, etc. As a result, they forgot their dialect and
culture. It has a significant impact on our society. They do not give importance to our language.
We, as Filipino, must nurture our own dialect.

II. BODY

Bong bong Marcos stated in his SONA that the medium of instruction will be replaced from
mother tongue to English, which we do not agree with since it is important to give the
significance of our mother tongue the other reason is that not all the people or the students
can understand English if it was used as a medium of instructions, some student need bridging
of language from English to mother tongue for them to understand the lessons. Nurturing our
dialect will symbolize as freedom. We have our language that we can use to communicate with
each other. It will prove that we are a free country. It is important to validate your country as
free to show independence. Using our language will help us connect and unite. If we use our
language, we can understand each other better it will also avoid conflict and misunderstanding.
That’s why our language is the only way we can communicate in our daily life. When it comes to
education, our language has a significant role. Using our mother tongue will improve the
learner's capability of acquiring lessons. Improving the learner's knowledge will result in a
better education system.

III. CONCLUSION

Foreign cultures influence many people or students. They nurture their mother tongue less
and want to learn about foreign languages than our mother tongue. If Filipinos continue to
love our language, the future generation will not forget our mother tongue and will also
love our country and improve our society. We must educate our current generation on how
important to give the significance of our language.
