ABSTRACT
Two of the most important tests to run on aggregate are the Water Absorption Test of Aggregates
and the Specific Gravity Test of Aggregates. These two aggregate properties or parameters are
critical in the design of a concrete mix. Because aggregate accounts for 70 to 80 percent of the
volume of concrete, testing it before to usage is essential. As a result, it would be preferable to use
a smaller aggregate material. The adsorption rate of a material with a higher water weight or wet
weight is higher than that of a material with a lower water weight or wet weight.
AIM
To determine the specific gravity and absorption of aggregates in accordance with ASTM
C127 and C128.
INTRODUCTION OR BACKGROUND
Any crushed rock product, as well as some naturally occurring material, is referred to as
aggregate. River gravel and sand are examples of fractured materials. Coarse Aggregate is a type
of coarse aggregate. Fine Aggregate is made up of particles with a diameter of less than 5 mm,
whereas Large Aggregate is made up of particles with a diameter of more than 5 mm from a
thickness of 5 mm to a pressure of 75 psi (0.075 mm). The Water Absorption Test of Aggregates
and the Specific Gravity Test of Aggregates are two of the most significant tests to perform on
aggregate. These two aggregate qualities or parameters play a vital role in the concrete mix design.
Because aggregate makes roughly 70 to 80 percent of the volume of concrete, evaluating it before
use is critical.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
For this experiment, the one with the least amount of absorption in comparison to the other trials
and the lowest wet to dry ratio is the winner, according to the data. As a result, a smaller aggregate
material would be preferable. A material with a higher water weight or wet weight has a higher
adsorption rate than one with a lower water weight or wet weight. Wet weight vs. dry weight Also,
after conducting experiments on various types of aggregates, I've discovered that the quality of the
material is determined by weight, gravity, and other factors. We also concluded that the
experiment's goal is to assess the quality. Since it takes up so much space on the material, it is one
of the aggregates. It demonstrates how concrete quality will be used and what quality the concrete
can achieve.

CONCLUSION
The conclusion of the experiment was used to determine the particle size
assessment. distribution with the essential specifications and data for making or producing various
aggregate products and other mixtures We may be able to determine the proper requirements for
the material that has to be produced based on the comments provided. Because the experiment's
goal is to determine the specific gravity and absorption aggregates. We started measuring and
studying the weight of the specified aggregates. We named the aggregates and then baked them
for an hour on a tray. We calculated the weight of the coarse aggregates, W0, by subtracting the
weight of the metal tray from the weighing scale reading after one hour.
