In a small town in Wisconsin, in the summer of 1962, all those adventures

started for two 14-year-old girls, Emily and Sarah. They both lived alongside, in
the same town. Sarah met Emily for the first time in their town's local park. On
the one hand, Sarah was a very amiable, witty girl who befriended the whole
neighbourhood. But on the other hand, Emily was an impressively intelligent,
clever, observant and quite peculiar girl who preferred not to talk much unless it
was urgent. She had no friends except for Sarah and had a tragic childhood, as
her parents left her when she was just a few years old. Emily grew up with a
kind old lady in the town. Despite their opposite personalities, Emily and Sarah
grew an unbreakable bond. Many years passed; Sarah and Emily were 14 by
then. Their neighbourhood was so happy and peaceful. Suddenly, all the
serenity was destroyed by macabre series of murders and purloin. All the
terrible killings were in the same manner; all the victims' heads were cut open,
fingers cut. Most gruesomely, the killer took out their eyes. But in all the
mysterious cases, the police had many questions unanswered. All this started
strangely after the arrival of a gentleman from a rich and famous background,
James Hudson. He became respected and widely known in the neighbourhood
for his wealth and kindness and was a prominent author by profession. Despite
the efforts and hard work of the police, they could not get to the bottom of any
murder or robbery cases. The police could not find any suspects. They are
reluctant to suspect James Hudson, for he once saved the life of the police chief.
It did not take time for his arrival to reach Sarah and Emily's attention. Emily
and Sarah had planned to investigate and kept their eyes on the neighbourhood
since the macabre started. They knew almost everything that was going on in
the town. Suddenly, Emily noticed some unusual and suspicious activities in
front of the town's library. James' butler, Mr Thomas, bought only green and red
pens from the town's librarian, Mr Wilson. Surprisingly, Mr Thomas does not
sell pens to anyone else. He behaves so rudely that very few people visit the
library. To more surprise, she saw that the butler brought green pens; there was
a robbery in town. Again, the butler brought red pens; there was a murder
somewhere in the town. Sarah and Emily met in the evening to tell each other
everything that happened that day in the town. Sarah said, "Well, my friend,
there is some bad news today. A young lady was murdered on the east daffodil
street, and an old gentleman from north Yorkshire street was robbed." Emily
replied, '' I also have noticed something in front of the library. James Hudson's
butler, Mr Thomas, was buying pens from the librarian Mr Wilson. You know
how rude he is.'' Then Sarah said, ''Yes, I understand, but how is buying pens
related to crimes?''
''Meet me at midnight today, you will see,'' replied Emily while walking towards
her home. Sarah caught up with Emily at midnight and walked towards the
town's library. Emily entered the library through a secret door which surprised
Sarah as she never knew its existence! Sarah thought that perhaps Emily knew
about the neighbourhood way more than her. As Emily entered the library, she
was looking for something. Suddenly she found a small box behind a shelf and
found some green, blue, and red pens. Then Sarah said,'' These are just some
ordinary pens. How are you going to solve a mystery with these?'' ''these simply
ordinary things may turn out to be the answer to the unknown questions you
never know.'' replied Emily as she opened the nibs of the pens one by one. As
she went through the pens, suddenly, she found a piece of paper wrapped with
the ink chamber of a red pen. ''Aha! found it! I knew it will be somewhere
here!'' she exclaimed while looking at extremely shocked Sarah. She opened the
note and saw "232 daffodil street "
