1.0 Executive summary:

FASHIONISTA SWAP is basically a service oriented business. We will provide this


service in the area of clothing, which will include both formal and informal dresses.
To provide this online cloth exchange service to customers, we will employ social
media platforms such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.
People will gain from this cloth swapping business since they will not have to buy
new high-priced cloths; instead, they will be able to exchange their unwanted cloths
for their preferred one by paying a modest fee for the swapping agreement.

Initially, we will offer this service to citizens of Islamabad, especially women. We


chose this location since it is close to our home and there is a high demand for decent
and, up-to-date clothing at a reasonable price. Because we live here, we are aware that
the people of Islamabad are more conscious of their appearance and want to improve
their looks in accordance with the times. However, as university students, we are
aware of the difficulties faced by women in purchasing new clothes that are in
fashion, so this is a fantastic opportunity for us to take advantage of and assist people.

Because the service will be provided online, the cost of swapping will vary depending
on the item. For example, if the swapping deal is finalised between luxury cloths that
may be branded or party wear that is in good condition, both parties will be charged
500 Rs, but if the swapping deal is finalised between standard cloths, both parties will
be charged 200Rs. As a result, our service will be highly beneficial to females, who
will also get familiar with the concept of end of usage and end of life of an item.

1.1 BUSINESS DESCRIPTION:

It is basically service oriented business named FASHIONISTA SWAP.

This service will be very beneficial for the females as they are more conscious about
their appearance and outlook so they don’t need to spend a lot of money on buying
new cloths. They just need to swap it out. They will also aware of the difference
between end of use and end of life of an item. Both the parties will be charged for
each exchange agreement with the fee varying depending on product.

Introduction to Business:

As university students, we examine everyone, especially girls, who are very conscious
about their appearance and strive to become more formal as it gives them a more
exquisite appearance. It is very typical for our friends to exchange stuff and there are
times when I prefer my friend's clothes and borrow them from her, as in my case. We
swap items such as dresses, scarves, gowns, jewellery and other items. It is pretty
simple to discuss information with friends since we have such a high level of
frankness that we do not hesitate. Then we won't have to spend money on new items.
We have a lot of clothes that we don't wear or that we only wear on special occasions.
Many times, I've noticed that my buddy likes a dress that I don't. Therefore in that
situation, I can easily exchange my dress with the one that she likes.

So my mind just clicked up that it is a perfect business idea. For the reasons stated
above, we have decided to create a comprehensive business plan for online exchanges
fashion stuff because it is widespread among girls. So, why not take advantage of the
opportunity to start this online clothing exchange business with zero investment? We
need more contacts and awareness among young people, so we provide a platform for
them to communicate with one another and show the items they want to exchange
with their co-workers or anyone else.

It gives a simple solution for getting more use out of existing clothing while also
enhancing communication by enabling us to engage with clothes in new ways through
sharing and reuse.

Goals and Objectives:

Essentially, our business model is service-oriented; we will give a platform for


females to exchange dresses and other fashion items. This exchange business is a
fresh new concept in the industry; no one has ever done it before, so it will be quite
simple for us to get started. Initially there are also no competitors in the market for
this exchange service.

 The following are the objectives of our business plan that we will achieve:
 Because we are not investing to start this business, we will make a profit. So
our primary goal will be to receiving charges from both sides.
 By replacing existing fabric with the desired one, the lifespan of existing cloth
will be extended.
 This concept support the concept of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
 It is Environmental friendly business idea as it reduces the usage of large
proportion of natural resources used in the production of the clothes.
 Also reduce load of purchasing new cloth you can only swap it out.
 Through swapping people will know the difference between the end of use and
end of life of the item.
 It is cost effective business idea.

 In future this swapping business can also be used for raising funds for charity
purpose.
 We will be aware of the most recent fashion trends as a result of this company
idea.
 We will be aware of the most recent and inventive clothing designs.
 The best colour combination, as well as what is in and out of style.
 We can learn about our consumers' financial situation through this exchange
service, Because it is not limited to a single social class, anyone from any
class, whether upper, medium, or lower, can use it.
 Female social engagement will expand as a result of this commercial platform.

1.2 STRUCTURE:

Legal State:

Swapping business is a partnership business in which two partner are involved who
will contribute in the capital and profit according to the amount of contribution from
both partners, It has been built up on the basis of partnerships act 1932.It also presents
the roles and responsibilities of both partners in the business. It has been designed in
order to avoid the dispute and disagreements and help the partners to perform their
tasks according to businesses conduct.

Service:

This service can be started without spending any money. We can begin providing this
service with no outlay of funds. All we have to do now is create an online platform
utilising any social media platform, such as What Sapp, Instagram, Facebook or any
other social platform and share the link with all of our friends and colleagues. They
can join the group by visiting this link, where we will post a photo or video of the
item they want to sell, as well as the entire description. We will act as a broker or
middle man, arranging a deal between two interested customers if both parties find the
information appealing they can finalise the deal after paying us a reasonable
commission, which varies depending on the item. If it is a luxury or expensive item,
we will charge more, but for cheap items, both parties will pay a very low
commission. In that instance, both parties will simply have to pay the fees to set up
the exchange transaction, and they will be able to obtain their desired item by

swapping their undesirable item. Also, one user is limited to uploading images or
videos of no more than 5 things to avoid overloading the system, although if one or
two items are sold out, the consumer can post data of other items. As a result,
everyone has an equal opportunity to engage in the trading business. To understand
our company's position, we must understand how the exchange market is performing.
As fashion becomes more popular, the market is continuously expanding since
everyone wants to seem good, charming, and decent. Also the physical appearance of
a person is used to determine his or her personality, followed by his or her attributes.

1.3 INDUSTRY:

Because our business concept is service-oriented, we will be able to enter the


exchange industry. The exchange sector is big and well-known among the general
public. Our service focuses mostly on clothes exchange, which includes both formal
and leisure attire. Our target market is the fashion industry, and our target customers
are primarily females, as girls are more concerned with their appearance. They require
different attire for various occasions, such as her formal presentation at the university,
attending a friend's birthday celebration, or attending a family gathering. Taking about
the age group that we will be mainly target is from 15-25.

Industrial Trends:

The fashion industry is divided into many segments, but the clothing exchange market
is our primary focus. By conducting the industrial analysis following trends will be
beneficial to our swapping business.

Social trends:

In its most basic form, society is a place where people live together, communicate,
and share their joys and sorrows. Pakistan's culture is well-known for the variety of
festivals and occasions on which people follow fashion trends, so it is a plus point for
our business that people, especially girls, demand new cloths on every function but
are unable to purchase them due to financial constraints. In this situation, they can use
our service and obtain a new dress by swapping. Also Population is adopting new
styles that are popular in the fashion sector. As individuals become more mindful of
their looks, they follow trends and accept changes in their dressing sense, the fashion
sector in Pakistan is flourishing. This social change is more popular among urban

people as their lifestyles change and everyone wants to look trendy, but due to
Pakistan's high percentage of middle class, no one can afford branded clothing. , so
swapping business will benefit everyone, and our business idea is very feasible due to
the high demand for fashionable products

Technological trends:

Technology has had a major impact on the fashion business, and it would not have
been feasible for the industry to grow to this extent without it. The way people shop
has evolved, with a greater emphasis on online stores. People also use alternative
social apps for online buying because of COVID-19 when there is a global shutdown.
Brands are also adapting to the change and displaying the clothing on their social
media accounts in order to attract customers and allow them to test out the new
experience.

Because of its ease of use and immediate availability of new fashion designs, online
shopping has become well-known. People watch fashion shows, catwalks, and
modelling to keep up with the latest trends. People nowadays use their mobile phones
for 20 hours out of every 24 hours, and they are also glued to Instagram, Facebook,
and Twitter.

As a result, technological changes are favourable to our business because it is very


easy for us to acquire customers. All we have to do now is forward the Link to our
friends, family, and colleagues and inform them of our swap business. We will create
a page on these apps to advertise our business by using different social applications
such as Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram.

Economic trends:

The garment and fashion industry in Pakistan is extremely important and has a
significant impact on the country's economy. Fashion is a way to express one's
creativity, and the fashion business is a multi-faceted operation involving many
people, all of whom contribute to the overall image of the industry. Our culture is
portrayed all over the world through the fashion sector, which gives a positive image
of a nation that is innovative and trendy.

COVID-19, a crucial issue, has caused the fashion industry to experience ups and
downs in recent years. The sector's struggles have been increased by high production

costs, frequent power outages, defective processes, and a lack of government
assistance policies. The fashion business is concerned about global recession, global
tensions, and a lack of high-quality skills.

So People are no longer ready to invest in large businesses as a result of all of these
causes, thus our swapping business, which is modest and attracts new investors, is
benefiting from the present economic trend.

Political trends:

The current government of Pakistan is creating various opportunities for youth to start
their own businesses, such as the Jawan youth programme and many other
programmes in which the government provides loans to start new businesses, which is
a plus point for our business idea because we will be able to use these beneficiary
loans to create a proper app for our swapping business in the future.

Pakistan is the world’s fourth-largest cotton producer, with Asia third-largest spinning
capacity after china and India, accounting for 5% of worldwide spinning capacity.
Following agriculture, Pakistan’s garment and textile industry contributes to be the
second largest employer of both skilled and unskilled labour, allowing the country to
rank as Asia’s eighth largest exporter of textile goods. Profits of textile companies in
the recent half of 2021 jump to 32% As a result, Pakistan's textile sector shines
brightly, making it ideal for new businesses to establish.

Also, the Pakistan government is making a significant contribution to the promotion


of fashion by holding various fashion shows such as lux style awards, modelling
shows, and fashion weeks in different cities. All of these factors will increase people's
fashion sense, which is favourable to our business because not everyone can afford up
to date clothes because they are in high demand and expensive, so they can get them
by swapping it out.

2.0 MARKETING PLAN:

We are specifically targeting the university students that don’t like to repeat clothes
that much and want to look cool every day. As these there is always a pressure on
these university students to dress up good and presentable.

So we have segmented our market in the following ways

Geography:

We are targeting city people of Islamabad as people tend to be more into fashion their
so we want to introduce our modern clothes over there as our brand provide modern
and up to date clothes .

Demographic:

We are targeting people that are of young age 15 to 25 and specially females and
university going students and who have normal incomes who are lower class or
middle class as university students already have so many expenses so they cannot
afford expensive clothes so we can offer them cheap deals.

Psychographic:

We target people who have interest in fashion specially the young generation that
wants to dress up every day in new ways as young generation wants stylish clothes as
the young generation has a lifestyle that they want everything to be fresh and trendy
by our brand they can keep it up.

Behavioral:

People can have clothes without even worrying about the expenses also if they don’t
like it they can swap it again and they can swap it with as many users as they can this
is a big benefit and with their experience they can have a great loyalty to our brand.

Product type:

In our product type we both formal and informal dresses shirts, jackets and
accessories to match your outfits. They are both available in eastern and western and
we are also planning to add shoes into our categories so you you can have a full outfit
ready to go and have fun.

Customers served:

We are not targeting businesses, we are targeting individuals.

Market size:

We are targeting the people of Islamabad and Rawal pindi and especially the young
people that prefer to wear modern clothes. As 64% of the population is Islamabad is
below 30 that means we will be targeting more than a half of the city for our products.

Competition (competitor analysis):

We have a lot of competition as there are a lot of clothing brand already in the market.
The different types of competitors our business can face

Direct competitors:

our direct competitors are the brand that are providing clothes at cheap prices and are
trendy for example the thrift shops businesses are becoming very common in our city
who are providing used clothes at half or very minimum prices.

Indirect competitors:

Our indirect competitors are the online stores on the social media platforms for
example bytes.pk, nineninetyninepk and memnu clothing because they provide
clothes that might be able to fulfill the need of swapping.

Future competitors:

Our future competitors are the thrift store brand that as they already have pretty
cheap prices no wonder they can start the swapping as well.

2.2 DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL

We are neither a supplier nor a distributer we are providing a medium we want to


create exchanges between two parties which is the whole purpose of swapping for that
we will have to create a good communication among them so that their won’t be
trouble in the swapping also the users can directly contact each other through us.

2.3 MARKETING MIX

Sales strategy, specific to pricing, promotion, products and place (4Ps)

so we have organized our marketing mix into four categories which are also known as
the 4 Ps as the four p's improve our marketing by influencing how we bring a new
product or service to market. It assists you in defining your marketing alternatives in
terms of pricing, product, promotion, and location to ensure that you’re offering
fulfils a certain client need or desire.

Product:

We provide accessories, shirts and jackets as well as bottom wears but there is always
a room for improvement so we want to add more things into it soon when we grow
and will be able to expand into the market more and more.

As clothes are a basic need these days almost every other person wants to dress up
good and especially in this modern world this just wearing clothes is not enough they
have to be modern and trendy as well. We have casual wear clothes and we have a
little bit a party wears as well and they are both eastern and western.

Price:

As our whole concept is about swapping so it does not have a price although we do
charge for service price and for making connection to the people they want to swap
with which is really low and they can easily pay for it without worrying and at the
same time we can also have a good amount of profit from it.

Cost-Based Pricing

It is the process through which a corporation calculates the best pricing and output
level for its products. We increase our prices to a very low level as we already do not
have to invest that much and by our normal prices we can grab more and more
customers.

Value-Based Pricing

We employ value-based pricing to optimize revenues, and they utilize research and
customer analysis to develop targeted price increases that collect the maximum
amount of money consumers are willing to spend without pushing them away which
is very reasonable for which they can get something that is worth a lot.

Promotion

We have done several activities to reach to our customers and also they can reach us
as well. Our marketing efforts are plainly visible in the market, in the form of ads and
other activities. The success of the organization emphasizes the importance of
excellent marketing communications. We can do a brands promotions in several ways
some of which are

Customers are more likely to buy from a company that has a successful marketing.
The commercials also help consumers form positive opinions about the firm and its
products so we might make small commercials for social media. Despite the fact that
advertising is a successful marketing communication strategy which can grow our
business more successfully.

Raise customer awareness of a product

We will raise awareness among our customers by sponsors and small commercials on
social media as people now a days are more into social media than they are on
televisions so through social media we can aware those more about the details and all
the things that we have.

Explain a product’s comparative features and benefits:

Our commercials will be able to tell them about the products that we have and what
kind of variety we have and they can benefit from it as they won’t have to pay for the
clothes they will only have to swap with another user.

Create associations between a product and a certain lifestyle:

As we are promoting our brand on social media that we will be reaching the modern
people that have a modern and trendy lifestyle.

Public Relations

For a brand it is really important to maintain good public relations to be successful in


the future and to create a loyalty as loyalty is everything for a business. We will ask
customers and the users that are swapping with each other to give reviews and as they
give reviews more and more people will be able to approach them through.

Our blogger friend can also help us in it in making a small video of how they liked
our product and what benefits they received from it.

We can also connect it with a social issue as many girls go to university their families
are not financially strong or they are poor but they do need clothes to maintain a
lifestyle which is set by the society and not get bullied for example they might need a

new dress for a presentation or s trip in the university so our brand will help them to
maintain their style with the minimum cost and live their life to their fullest.

Social Media

Social media is a platform that is very common these days almost every other person
uses it which makes it a good source for advertising and create awareness about a
business. Social networking serves as a tool of connecting large numbers of people
from all walks of life and all over the world and this includes linking companies and
customers.

Social media has an incredible potential to target certain groups of people using
strong data and algorithms; it is the ideal instrument for segmenting markets so
advertising can truly reach the correct individuals.

Through social media we can target right people that will be interested in our products
and social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook can help us a lot in our purpose.
Social media provides both companies and individuals with a voice and a platform to
express themselves; it has altered the way we communicate and receive
communications.

Many of the limitations to expression that present in more traditional advertising


approaches are removed by social networking. Companies may spend millions of
dollars on a television advertising campaign, but it costs nothing to produce a
Facebook post.

Other Promotion-Related Activities

Text messages

Other promotion activities can be that we send text messages to various amount of
people making them aware of our brand and how they can benefit from it.

Discounts:

We can offer customers discounts or free service to attract them to our brand by
giving them offers such as if a customers that have a higher rate of swapping will
have a one free swap.

We can directly talk to our friend and family members to aware them about our brand
and the variety that we are providing.

Place:

Our entire business platform is based online so our social media will be our place to
represent ourselves and the variety that we have. In the future we also plan to open a
closet on a suitable location but as we are doing a start up at the moment so we are
only focusing on the social media platforms and What Sapp/Facebook groups.

3.0 OPERATIONAL PLAN:

The Fashionista Swap service will be available throughout the week and will be
accessible 24 hours. Because the service will be given online, customers can visit the
site at any time and expect a timely response from us. However, a seller who wishes
to sell an item can only post photos or videos of up to five products. This is done to
reduce the amount of work load

Location:

There will be no physical site because the service will be delivered through social
media platforms such as What Sapp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.

Payment:

Because we are providing this service online, the price will vary depending on the
product. For example, if an exchange agreement is reached between a luxury item
such as branded clothing or party wear with a high initial cost, we will charge only
500 Rs. both parties' perspectives And for a standard cloth exchange in good
condition, both parties will be charged only 200Rs.

Recruitment:

We will not hire any employees at first because both partners will be doing all of the
work. Because this is a service-oriented business that provides services to customers
online, it will be quite easy for us to market using these social networks today as
people are on social media more and it is a world of social media.

Product design:

We are providing the clothes that are very trendy and in fashion these days as the
same clothes are on the brand for a very high prices and mostly girls wear them for
only 1 or 2 time so it is easier for them to wear it and then swap it with another
beautiful collection. They will only have to pay for service charges that’s it and they
will have a whole new outfit.

Marketing aspects:

According to the marketing aspects we do not have to invest a lot of money all we
have to do is choose the right people for the right product and if we are effective in
that sense then we can achieve success further more.

As our medium of exchange will be through social media as more and more people
tend to socialize as it has become very common these days so it is easier to grab a
good amount of audience from their and to attract the right people.

Technical aspects:

Our business is basically service oriented we will provide service to the people and
we will make sure that we have a good communication with them so we can interact
with them in a better way and make the deals more easier for them and us as well.

When two parties try to approach each other we will basically work as a middle
person we will make sure that they can talk to each other right on time and there is no
delay in the service and they get their desired product right on time.

Product development stages:

Our business is more about service and we are very excited for it, through our service
people can swap products with each other according to their desire and in the
categories they are interested but we are planning to products our own products in the
future that are in trend and are high in demand. As the things that are high in demand
tend to be out of stock early as more and more people are buying it but then they will
have a option as our brand will never be out of stock.

Inbound logistics:

We are ensuring finest quality to the people that tend to stay more in trend and want
to stay up to date according to the society. We will make sure at first the people are
from close areas so that they can swap more easily.

Then we make sure about the quality of the product and we thoroughly analyse the
condition of the product as it is suitable to be sent or sent as our customers are our top
priority.

Operations:

All the operation will be done online through the social media platforms such as
WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter as our generation is very
modern and also people now a days are lazy to go to the stores so they prefer to shop
online and see several options in just one click and this also saves their a lot of time.

Outbound logistics:

We first make sure if the products that we are swapping between customers is of fine
quality than we will use Bykea as our delivery between both of the people and will
make sure they get their products. This process allows us to reduced transportation
cost and it will also save time.

Manufacturing plan: As in the start we will provide the service so we are not
personally manufacture any product. But in future plans manufacturing of out our
cloths are included.

Maintenance and support:

For maintenance we make sure about the clothes quality and when in the future we
will have our own closet we will try to do the cleaning everyday as dust can really
damage the clothes.

We will make sure that the clothes are being kept in a safe place where they won’t be
damages by any insects and also they remain fresh as smell is really important so is
the presentation.

We will also make sure that the quality of the fabric is fine, if it is wearable for more
than one time by deeply analyzing it.

Management plan:

So we believe we partners are powerful people that can start our brand in a very
innovative way and introduce this new idea to the world to make their life easier.

Educational background:

Our business will be a partnership business of fazila and kashaf hameed. We both are
doing BBA (bachelors in business administration) from NUML (national university of
modern language). As we both have studied together we have a great and strong bond
together that can affect our business in a very good way and can help us to be more
successful in future.

We have a phenomenal understanding of the market as well as our teachers have


guided us a lot in the marketing trends and we will also try to learn more about the
market as there is always a room for improvement which can help us a lot in the
future.

Previous industry and related experience:

We both also had some experience from the internship we did. Fazila did her
internship from Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies and kashaf did
her internship from Head office Islamabad. We learned a lot about the market their as
well.

experience from our brand. Kashaf will make sure that she understand how the market
is evolving and what are the current trends and opportunities for our brand and to
specifically target them and work on them.

Fazila will be focusing on the business operations to make sure our finance is going
smoothly so in the future we don’t face any debt. Fazila will be handling the finances
of our brand all the cost related expenditures will be under her and Fazila will make
sure that we are have our finances in control for the success of our business in the
future.

If a company’s finance is running smoothly it can lead us to earn more profit and our
business can be more effective and we will exactly know where to invest and where
not to.

Structure of our business:

Our business structure is online based. So we will be using the online platforms for
our business such as What Sapp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. We
both partners Fazila and Kashaf Hameed are going to operate our business by
efficiently handling our business’s HR, marketing and finance department. And we
will also have a good communication together so that we can make more effective
decisions.

In the future we also plan on making our own new products that are in trend so that
we can offer more variety of options to our customers as our customers are really
important for us and winning them is our top priority.

As for a brand its marketing is really important without good marketing skills a

business can never be success full and same as the HR, so kashaf will make sure if we

are managing our customers properly.

Finance is equally important for the business as keeping our budget in mind and very

carefully spending the money where it is needed, so Fazila will make sure that all

4.0 Development Plan:

Product Development:

Idea generation: As I already stated, there is no such business as cloth swapping in


Islamabad. There are various exchange cloths we websites and cloths on rent
available on the internet, but they are not solving the primary problem of people,
which is cost and quality. New and branded cloths are very expensive to buy, so they
can receive their desired cloths by using this swapping service. Also, because people
these days are highly social and spend the majority of their time on their phones, it is
very easy to grab people's interest in this swapping business. So, at this time, there is a
high demand for up-to-date and high-quality dresses at a low price in this area, and as
university students, we are very much involved in such activities through our friends
who frequently exchange clothes that they like, so we decided to make a career out of
it because we have experience in it and can better serve the market.

Idea screening:

We have a couple of ideas, but they have a lot of flaws when compared to this
swapping business because we have no experience in other businesses and as a
woman, it is best to work from home using social media platforms. We also have a
strong interest in the fashion industry and want to know what is in and out of style and
how to be fashionable at any given time. So why not put some effort into it? And start
our own business to facilitate people.

Initially, we will offer a swapping service to consumers in which the seller can upload
a photo or video of the cloth they wish to swap, but if our service proves to be
successful, we plan to produce our own cloths and offer them for exchanging. As an
example, we will stitch high-demand cloths. We would also engage girls who are
skilled at stitching for this purpose. Other we are also focusing on the shoes to swap
as to get the perfect look latter may be we will add the option of shoes swapping in
our business.

On a daily basis, we will review consumer evaluations and feedback. After customers
receive their product, we'll check their comments and reviews for feedback. To do so,
we'll use all of the social media channels available, such as Facebook and Instagram,
