Alicia Ledlie

Walmart

Back when Alicia Ledlie was just a co-manager at a Wal-Mart store in Long Island, N.Y., she
attended a conference at the company’s Arkansas headquarters and heard about a possible new
venture: in-store health clinics. Due to her past experience and knowledge of Long Island
customers, she understood that this venture had the potential to be successful and immediately
applied for a job with the clinic start-up team. Though she had no health-care industry
experience, she quickly took on a leading role. Little more than two years later, Ledlie was
running the in-store program, and she had overseen the implementation of more than 79 in-store
health clinics in 12 states. Under her leadership, Walmart clinics’ now offer drug-testing,
common lab tests, and many more.
