About Kinder-Pants: Mathematics
The new Smarty Pants series was created with Michelle Huddleston’s IR3 teaching method in mind, as well as the visual,
kinesthetic learner. This interactive activity binder is meant to be printed and laminated with Velcro pieces (optional) applied to
each activity page. It is also best kept in a binder. The individual activities help introduce a new concept to your child, help your
child recognize the new concept taught, aids in the reviewing process of the concept, and initially helps your child to retain
what was taught.

Several other ways this notebook can be used: morning work, transition work, free -play, activity time(s), and testing.

Teaching tips: introduce a new concept by explaining what it is and its application, give examples of how it is used in real life,
ask what your child may already know about it, show and tell the concept, and invite your child to model what is shown to
them. Also remember to be consistent! Your child may not pick up on something the first several times it is introduced/taught ;
however, you’d be surprised how quickly they adjust and catch on especially when their lear ning style is able to shine forth. Use
their natural way of learning as the basis to how you introduce new concepts, reiterate, and review.

Note: activity pieces for pages 17-19 are on page 20. As always, please never share the PDF files purchased from With the
Huddleston’s. Please do share the Shop website so others can take advantage of the curriculum resources available. If you have
