1) INTRODUCTION: IN INDIA, IT IS STILL A NORM TO PAY LESS WAGE TO WOMEN COMPARED TO
MEN FOR SAME WORK POSSESSING SAME SKILLS. IT IS ESPECIALLY THE CASE IN PRIVATE
SECTOR, WHETHER ORGANISED OR UNORGANISED. FOR EXAMPLE, BOARD OF CRICKET COUNCIL
OF INDIA TOOK A STEP TO EMPOWER EQUALITY BY PAYING SAME PAY TO BOTH MEN AND
WOMEN CRICKETERS. APART FROM THAT, ALMOST EVERY SECTOR IS DOOMED OF THIS
PROVISION. FOR EXAMPLE, IN BOLLYWOOD, FEMALE CO-ACTRESSES ARE PAID LESS FOR EQUAL
ROLE THAN THEIR MALE COUNTERPARTS. IT IS HIGHLY DISSATISFACTORY TO KNOW ABOUT THIS
SITUATION IN 21TH CENTURY.
