• The legal requirements for


safety audit are stipulated in the
Factories and Industrial
Undertakings (Safety
Management) Regulation which
is covered in Chapter 11 of this
Study Guide.
CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS
FOR SAFETY AUDIT

• The systematic evaluation of policies,


procedures, practices and programme
is essential to the efficiency and
effectiveness of any organisation.
Many organizations carry out a form
of safety audit or review once a year
and this is seen as the mainstay of
their safety policy whilst others
evaluate only a part of their activities
such as a specific programme.
CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS
FOR SAFETY AUDIT

• It can expand the control the safety


performance of the contractor or sub-
contractor and keeping them on the
right track with regard to the
achievement of the client’s safety and
health objective during the execution
of the contract. The safety audit,
safety rules and safety programme
can be set down in detail in the
contract for the contractor to follow
and implement.
CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS
FOR SAFETY AUDIT

• One of such provision shall be agreed


with contractor, which is in line with
the client’s safety and health policy.
The contractor shall ensure the
workers employed under him are fully
aware of the safety policy and safety
rules. The effectiveness of the
implementation shall be audited
regularly evaluate the effectiveness,
which are the provision requirement
under the contract.
