Note : The helix tube should not be used for more than 250 tests
1. Check the device for visible damage and ensure the device is dry. Also ensure that the device is
not warm.
2. Open the helix tube by removing the capsule from the device.
3. Remove a strip from the sheet. Fold the indicator strip and ensure that the indicator faces
inwards.
4. Place the indicator strip with the folded side first into the capsule. The change and results of the
indicator will be influenced by not correctly following the exact directions.
5. Close the device.
6. Run a sterilization cycle.
7. At the end of the cycle, remove the device from the autoclave. Be careful, the device may be hot.
8. Open the capsule from the device and remove the strip, check the indicator. The test is positive if
the indicator changes to the right color.
From red/ pink à green at 134°C at 3,5 min. / 121°C at 15 min.
From pink à blue at 50 ± 2°C - 2 – 4 hrs.
9. The indicator strip has a self adhesive backing and can be applied to sterilization records.
