HAPPINESS IN ALL ITS LONESOMENESS

Happiness. Some people see it as the bubbling, infectious feeling that blooms
when people do or experience something. Some see it as another concept entirely,
such as contentment. The topic is very broad, and trying to discuss the entire gamut of
where happiness is derived from would be pointless. Though many people see
happiness as the entire health, wealth, and happiness package, some beg to differ. It
can also be derived from loneliness. Many people see loneliness as a sign of sadness,
but on the contrary several kinds of happiness can be derived from it.
Doing things personally gives one a sense of self-achievement. When one does
something by his or herself, overflowing happiness and pride sometimes occur. Doing
these things personally raises a huge amount of self-credibility and trust in oneself. It
indices a warm, encompassing and empowering sense of self-independence. Internally,
it gives one the solid and lucid impression that the world isn’t always bouncing his or her
fate on the roulette of chance; thus, giving one a sort of happiness.
Another, a lack of interference from other people is very comforting. One result of
this is when a person loses the bitter, self-imposed task of proving himself or herself in
the eyes of a friend. With the lack of other eyes to see from, a person instead learns to
see within oneself. By being alone, deliberation of oneself would begin, giving one a
personal view of his or her spirit, which most psychology books would describe as an
“inner peace” or a “fortress of solitude.”
Lastly, walking becomes refreshing when relieved of outside interference. When
engaging in a jaunty, taxing or serious conversation, various hormones are put into play.
The most common are endorphins, dopamine and oxytocin. When put into various
combinations, extreme emotions are produced. When one walks alone, serotonin
becomes the dominant hormone, bringing only one distinguishable feeling which can be
described as a happiness. With this, one learns to appreciate quietude and serenity and
derive happiness from these.
As an egress, the world and our minds teach that happiness comes in many
forms. One form is never nearly enough for the voracious human, as we frequently feel
them at any given time. Loneliness is one of those times. Always keep in mind that
other people are not the only requirements of being happy. In some instances, one only
needs his or her imaginations and thoughts. All by their lonesomeness.
