The greenhouse effect is caused by CO2 and other gases.

Like panes of
glass in a greenhouse, these gases allow solar radiation to penetrate the
atmosphere, but some of the sunlight that hits the earth are reflected and
warms the atmosphere.

The greenhouse effect is what keeps the earth's climate livable, but human
action has dangerously enhanced this effect, the consumption of fossil
fuels causes the accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere and the
increasing amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, could alter the Earth's
climate, like heavy rains in arid regions or droughts in productive lands.

If greenhouse gases continue to increase at the current rate, the Earth's

mean temperature may rise ... and if the Earth's temperature increases, the
atmosphere will become warmer and the polar ice caps will melt.

Researchers estimate that this increase in temperature could be between

1.5 and 4.5 degrees Celsius, by the middle of the century. And the
temperatura rise at the poles could reach 10 degrees Celsius.

Finally, a possible solution would be to replace fossil fuel energy with

renewable energy, this would decrease greenhouse gases in the
atmosphere.
