Hints on Running MAD-X on Windows

I recommend you first make a folder “mad” among your “Program Files” and in this folder
make a sub-folder “madx” put “madx.exe” and the data “FODO2.MADX” in this sub folder
folder called “madx” in your “Program Files” folder together with the ”madx.bat” file which
you will among my lectures). You can then drag the data-file icon over the ”madxked.bat”
file. The output files generated should then appear in the same folder.

If you do not have the privilege of adding folders to your “Program Files” you can try to put
the “mad” folder and subfolder somewhere else but you will have to edit the text line in the
madx.bat file which reads:

C:\Progra~1\mad\madx\madx.exe<%fname%

to match the path to your madx folder location.
