    Culture Shock Midterm Project

    The term Culture Shock refers to the feelings of distress and unease when being exposed to a foreign
    culture. Besides this narrow definition of the actual shock the expression is also used in order to
    describe the whole process a person goes through during an international encounter. This mini project
    aims at giving an insight to the students on how people encountered and handled their culture shock
    experiences.
    1. Find a person who has experiences living abroad. The person can be your lecturers who have
    studied overseas, or international students who are studying in Banda Aceh.
    2. Interview the participants using the question attached in the appendix.
    3. Make sure you record your interview session.
    4. Transcribe the interview answers.
    5. Write the report.

    2. How long have you been studying at Syiah Kuala University?
    3. How long did you stay there?
    4. What did you think of Banda Aceh/that country when you first arrived?
    5. What do you think about Aceh’s/that country culture?
    6. What do you think about Aceh’s/Australia/England/US people?
    7. Have you experienced culture shock?
    8. Do you have problem in the following aspect and how you cope with it
