This source is one of the few LMXBs that show a full eclipse.

e Pulsations

Pulsations are observed in HMXBs in which neutron star is the compact ob-
ject. The neutron star in a HMXB system has a very high magnetic field of the order
of about 10'? Gauss and a magnetosphere is formed around the neutron star. The
matter accreted by the neutron star fall onto the magnetic caps along the magnetic
field lines and X-ray emission is produced. If the rotation axis of the neutron
star
is not aligned with the magnetic axis, we observe an enhanced intensity in the X-
ray emission when the beam of emission crosses our line of sight. Thus we observe
pulsations as the neutron star rotates. Pulsations are not observable in a LMXB
system as the neutron star does not have a high magnetic field that can channel the
accreted matter on to the poles.
