Introduction

Fashion is changing and nuanced all the point. It is one of 

the most powerful forces in our life. At a certain time, it affec

ts any aspect of our lifestyle, the clothing we wear, the music w

e listen to, the food we eat, where we go for a holiday or the ca

r we drive in.

For several companies, clothes, shoes, textiles, cars, fashi

on is a big business and a key driver. Under the broad head of

Professional Competency Education, the aim of the stream of

fashion design and garment technology is to tell the students

about the basics of fashion design and garment production.

Fashion Design as a discipline includes the entire cycle from the

fiber and yarn level to the finished product of designing and

manufacturing fashion apparel.

Clothing is the second among the five basic needs of people.

Without cloth man cannot live in the society, clothes were needed

to cover a body parts, and it also become protection of body from

harshness

Garment Technology deals with the different technical aspect

of production of garments. This course is designed for those who

have never had any exposure to industry level so sewing, but want

to make an ambition and career in the field of garments.

 Performing in garment technology can teach a lot of things

like having a patient, discipline, courage, and motivation when

performing in field or actual works. Those thing should have all

of the garment technologist to become a successful in their

career.

Garment technologist know every stage of garment production,

from the design to manufacture. They are involved in making sure

production remain within budget and choosing the correct fabric.

They work closely alongside designers, pattern cutters and

buyers.

A garment technologist should be working with designers to

make sure the design suits production methods is right, they are

the responsible in finding, choosing and buying suitable fabrics

and accessories for their clients.

Significant of the study

This study is designed to identify the factors that affect grade

10 student to choose garment technology in sto domingo national

trade school. This study is expected to be significance and

informative to number of people like students, teachers, parents

of grade 10 students in Sto Domingo National Trade School.

Research Locale

The researcher will conduct the study in Sto. Domingo

National Trade School

Research Design and Method

The study will use the Descriptive research method.

Valdez (2011) states that the Descriptive method of research is

concerned with the description of data and characteristics about

a population. The goal is the acquisition of factual, accurate

and systematic data that can be used in averages, frequencies and

similar statistical calculations.

Sampling Design

This research will use a non-probability design like purposive

sampling design.

Respondents

The respondents of this study will be the grade 10

student who choose garment technology course.

Instrument and Device

The primary instrument is the questionnaire which

according to Mitra (2011) is a set of planned questions which

when answered properly, will supply the needed data for a

research problem or topic.
