dias ou que é habitual. O presente dos verbos em inglês, com exceção do

verbo to be e dos verbos modais e do, é formado pelo infinitivo do verbo


sem o “TO” para todas as pessoas, com exceção da 3ª pessoa do singular
como segue:

1- verbos terminados em CH, SH, SS, X, O, Z, sofrem o acréscimo de ES.

to fix – consertar He fixes the airplane.


to polish – polir The mechanic polishes the structure.

2- verbos terminados em Y precedido por consoante – tira-se o “Y” e


acrescenta-se IES.

to fly – voar It flies very fast.

3- para os demais verbos, há o acréscimo do S.

4- Exceção:

FORMA INTERROGATIVA

1-Para fazermos a forma interrogativa, no Presente Simples, coloca-se o


verbo auxiliar DO antes do sujeito da frase.
2-Na terceira pessoa do singular (HE, SHE, IT) o verbo auxiliar é flexionado.
Teremos então verbo auxiliar DOES antes do sujeito da frase. Neste caso o
verbo principal voltará para a sua forma original (infinitivo sem o TO).

Exemplo: You speak English. He speaks English.


Do you speak English? Does he speak English?

FORMA NEGATIVA

1-Para fazermos a forma negativa no Presente Simples coloca-se o verbo


auxiliar DO + a partícula NOT após o sujeito da frase: do not (don’t).
2- Na terceira pessoa do singular (HE, SHE, IT) o verbo auxiliar é flexionado.
Teremos então verbo auxiliar DOES + a partícula NOT após o sujeito da
frase: does not (doesn’t). Neste caso o verbo principal voltará para a sua
forma original (infinitivo sem o TO).

Exemplo:

We overhaul components. He overhauls components.


We don’t overhaul components. He doesn’t overhaul components.

 CAN – é um verbo modal utilizado para expressarmos:


 Habilidades - I can replace engines.
 Pedidos - Can you open the window, please?
 Permissão - Can I use this tool?

Os verbos modais não são conjugados, ou seja, permanecem da mesma


forma para todas as pessoas. Existem outros verbos modais que serão
estudados no decorrer do curso.

Sua estrutura é: CAN + o verbo principal sem o TO.

09. Futuro Simples

 WILL - é um verbo modal utilizado para expressarmos futuro. Tanto


para verbos regulares quanto para os irregulares, a formação do futuro é
a mesma.

Sua estrutura é: Will + o verbo principal sem o TO.

NOT após o sujeito da frase: will not (won’t).

10. Pronomes Relativos


Eles se referem a algo ou alguém mencionados na oração anterior. Devemos
sempre observar o antecedente ao pronome relativo, pois é a esta palavra
que estamos nos referindo.

Ex: The structure which was replaced last night is averaged.

“WHO” - quando o antecedente for uma pessoa.


Ex.: The man who telephoned yesterday is my father.

“WHICH” - quando o antecedente for um animal ou uma coisa.


Ex.: The manual which is on the table is updated.

“WHOSE” - para indicar posse (cujo(s), cuja(s)).


Ex.: The car whose tire is flat is in front of the bank.

14. Noun Clusters - I


Os "clusters" são um conjunto de palavras que servem para descrever uma
determinada peça. São formados por um substantivo, substantivos
adjetivados e adjetivos, e são traduzidos para o português de trás para
frente. Nesta primeira etapa estudaremos os Noun Clusters sem o uso de
preposição.

Ex.: Parafusos de fixação - Attachment bolts

Porém, os "clusters" nem sempre são traduzidos desta forma, algumas


vezes eles não seguem uma seqüência lógica é preciso usar de bom senso
ao traduzi-los.

Ex.: Overhead circuit brake panel

Se fossemos traduzi-lo na seqüência lógica seria: painel do disjuntor


superior, quando na verdade é painel superior do disjuntor.

Existem ainda alguns “clusters” que já possuem uma nomenclatura pré


estabelecida, ou seja, são grupos de palavras que sempre vêm
acompanhadas umas das outras e possuem apenas um significado.

Ex.:
circuit braker – disjuntor trailing edge – bordo de fuga
landing gear – trem de pouso leading edge – bordo de ataque

ESTRUTURAS DE AERONAVES
