A. Describe the two kinds of sports injuries. (3 points each)

1. Traumatic Injury

Traumatic injury is caused by life threatening event such as a bad fall,


severe car accident, or gunshot wound. Because a patient’s life may be at
stake, a traumatic injury can affect not only the body, but also in the
mind and spirit as well. Some examples of traumatic injuries are
fractures, muscle pulls, and sprains.

2. Over-use Injury

Over-use injury is a type of muscle or joint injury, such as tendinitis or a


stress fracture, that’s caused by repetitive trauma. Some examples,
strains, shin splints, and tendonitis. These are the results of lack of
flexibility which why it is important for athletes of any age to properly
execute warm-up exercises properly before engaging sports.

B. Why proper Warm-up is necessary for players? (5 points)

Executing proper warm-up for players before engaging to sports is necessary


because it can help us reduce injury risk, decrease muscle pain and tension
and increase player performance by increasing blood flow to the muscles.
