Farmers”, aimed to determine the socio-demographic profile of the respondents; effects

of COVID-19 pandemic to the farmers; income level of the respondents; the significant

influence of the socio-demographic profile in terms of age, gender, educational

background and farming status such as land tenure, nature of farming, farm size and

crops grown and the effects of COVID-19 Pandemic when analyzed by the income level

of the respondents.

A random sampling procedure was employed to gather necessary data with the

use of survey questionnaires. Fifty (50) farmers were randomly identified and selected as

respondents. The data gathered were statistically treated using frequency, percentage, and

mean. Meanwhile, multiple linear regressions were used to determine the significant

influence of the socio-demographic profile in terms of age, gender, educational

background and farming status such as land tenure,

nature of farming farm size and crops grown and the effects of COVID-19 Pandemic

when analyzed by the income level of the respondents.

Results revealed that 76% of the farmers are 36 years old and above, commonly

male and finished their college degree. Moreover, 82% of the respondents owned the land

having 1 hectare in size. They also preferred to hire labors for their crops, which is

rubber. Furthermore, result revealed that COVID-19 pandemic sometimes affected the

farmers in terms of their farming activities and crop production, and majority of the

farmers have expenses that exceeded their income.

Generally, socio-demographic has no significant influence on the income level of

the respondents. However, the effects of COVID-19 pandemic has significantly

influenced farmers’ income level.
