TOOLBOX FIRST MONTH BACK AT

The holidays bring lots of fun and normally some extended time off work. As we get back into the
swing of things after the holidays/time of, we need to reflect, take some time to take a closer look
at back to work safety.
Why is the first month back at work dangerous?
➢ Low energy or Morale
➢ Personal matters from the holiday season creating additional stress or distractions.
➢ Hectic coming back from the holiday season.
It is important for you to set the tone for the year/month or even week by ensuring that you fend off low
morale and energy levels at the beginning of the year.

Before diving in, take a few steps to prevent injuries on the first month back:

• Make sure you are fit for work before you start your shift.

• Ensure you can focus on your work and the task at hand.

• Complete inspections of your work area, tools, and equipment

• Take the time to make sure all necessary safeguards are in place.

• Look out for your co-workers.

• Be prepared to stop work if there are hazards that need to be addressed.
