around the world have been celebrating on March 8th to commemorate international Women’s Day. In this weeks feature im going to tell you the stories of 3 women who I think deserve recognition for helping equality get to where it is today. A ROLL The first women I want to talk about is B ROLL Rosa Parks. She has been CUT TO PICTURE OF ROSA nationally recognized as the PARKS “mother of the modern day civil rights movement” in America. A Roll On December 1, 1995 she CUTS BACK TO EMMY refused to move from her seat on the bus to give it to a white male. Although this act in itself was very small, the coragious act changed americas view of black people and heled to redirect the course of history. This monment key moment in history was featured in an episode of Doctor who, showing just how infamous this event is to american history. The next women I want to
talk about is Malala. She lived in Pakistan and loved school and truly valued her education. B ROLL Her father ran a girls school PICTURE OF THE GIRLS in her village until the SCHOOL Talban said that girls could no longer go to school. B ROLL In 2012 she started talking MALALA TALKING publicly on behalf of girls and there right to learn. A ROLL In october that same year a CUT TO EMMY Gunman walked onto her school bus asking for her. He then shot her on the right side of her head. She woke up in Birmingham 10 days later and after months of surgeries and rehabilitation she established the Malala Fund, a charity dedicated to giving every oppurtunity to women possible. A ROLL The third women I want to talk about is B ROLL Emma Watson. Emma is an CUT TO PICTURE OF EMMA actress who is famously WATSON known for playing Hermione in the Harry Potter Series. A ROLL In 2016 she became a counsellor at One young World. She is a leading advocate for gender equality and has promoted issues related to girls welfare for several years. She travelled to Bangladesh and Zambia to visit schools as part of her humanitarian efforts. To hel this cause ven more she created a book club to help raise awarness of how gender inequality impacts all of us. She uses social media platforms like twitter and instagram to promote the cause. Her speech to the U.N “sparked 1.2 billion social-media conversations” with her key arguments being unequeal pay.
