for good health and growth are called nutrients.
b. Balanced diet – A diet that has all the nutrients, such as carbohydrates,
proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals in right amount along with roughage
and water is called a balanced diet.

Q2. What does the food pyramid represent?

Ans. The food pyramid is a triangular representation of all the components of a


healthy and balanced diet.

It indicates the proportions in which food should be consumed daily from

Ans. Each type of food helps our body in a particular way. Healthy meals
have a variety of nutrients that help us grow and remain strong.

Ans. A Labourer should eat more carbohydrates as he does a lot of physical work
and need more energy. Carbohydrates are energy giving food.

Ans. Proteins are required for building the body therefore, children need more
proteins as their body is growing.
