World Food Problems and Their Effects on the

Environment.

Food has been one of the problem that we are facing not just in one country
but all over the world, may it be surplus of food leading to it to rot and be a waste or
the food shortage leading to hunger. Having too much food all at once or surplus is
also bad because the supply and demand don’t complement each other, the surplus
food to which are not preserved well and haven’t been consumed in time will perish
and will just be thrown away making it a waste. The opposite of surplus is food
shortage. Contradicting surplus which has too much supply but low demand, food
shortage is too much demand with little to no supply. It is not a pleasant scenario
because it’ll lead to hunger and malnutrition which will have a domino effect on other
problems were facing. Another cause of food problems is due to human practices such
as deforestation, kaingin farming, dynamite fishing, commercial fishing and improper
agricultural practices

Such problem affects our environment because the earths population continuously
increases yet our resources are limited and finite. The said list above affect our
environment because trees are one of our needed resource not just for food but also
other necessities in our life. Deforestation is cutting down trees and using the space
for building new establishments. Dynamite fishing, as the name imply is a practice of
fishing by using dynamite which will kill juvenile fishes and the corals to where the
fishes live. Commercial fishing is hoarding too much fish thus getting the juvenile ones
who is needed to reproduce to keep to resource going. Improper agricultural practices
are kaingin farming, using harmful chemicals on plants, and many more.
