International Youth Day 2022 celebrates promoting Generation Solidarity

The International Youth Day celebrations began last August 12, 2022, with the theme
"Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for all Ages," as organized by DESA and
UNESCO.

2022 is the year for galvanized action and draws The day marks an awareness day and
draws attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. Last year also
marked the 23rd anniversary of International Youth Day, bringing youth concerns to the notice of
the world's population and recognizing the capacity of young people to participate as partners in
the today's world society.

It is critical to emphasize that the goal of last year’s International Youth Day 2022 is to increase
public awareness of some issues that hinder intergenerational solidarity, particularly age
discrimination, which has negative impacts on both young and elderly people as well as society
as a whole.
