This year’s celebration intended to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to

persons while negatively affecting society. It also provided venue to engage and mobilize learners with various
backgrounds in participating in various interactive and participatory youth activities anchored on DepEd Core
Values (Maka-diyos, Makat-tao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa).
All teachers and advisers, officers and school members of all school clubs and organizations, student
leaders, learners, and other concerned were encouraged the participate in the said celebration.
Yours truly, the SSG Adviser, together with members of the PNHS School Youth Formation, including the
Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and Barkada Kontra Droga attended the webinar from August 8 to 12, 2022. The

The common understanding, we can begin to look at for all people is
coming to appreciate that one person’s religious beliefs and practices do not
inhibit the practice of another. We can respect the differences; we can even
appreciate the differences without the differences keeping one person from
practicing or believing the way they do. The only thing that we really have to do is respect one another and the
choices the other person makes so far as they do no harm to other individuals.

conditions of the earth. This happens due to many internal and external
factors. The climatic change has become a global concern over the last
few decades. Besides, these climatic changes affect life on the earth in

August 12, 2022 International Youth Day  Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a world
for All Ages

The virtual celebration of International Youth

Day started at exactly 9:00 in the morning with the
usual preliminaries – Singing of the Philippine
National Anthem and the Opening Prayer. The lovely
and interactive hosts were Kuya Boivin and Ate Jem.
After some words, the hosts introduced Mr. Rovin James Canja for the inspirational message. He said
that the vision of our country lies in the hands of our youths. They are filled with tremendous and towering
ambitions. It will be a great wastage of human resources if these youths are not given an opportunity to exercise
their talent. This beautiful land needs these youths in order for our soil to become a brighter one. The primary
role of young people is to get a good education in order to become better citizens of tomorrow.
They need to learn skills to do the job that their country’s economy needs. They also need to know how
to read, write, think, understand, analyze, and discuss the
issues their country faces. The entire success of the nation
depends on the youths. However, in order for continuous
success to take place; it is the Government’s responsibility
to provide the youth with proper facilities for, getting
equipped with the knowledge of the modern era. Youth is
the spring of life. It is the age of discovery and dreams. They
have the power to transform the nation into a better place.
They also have the ability to lead their fellow citizens into the right direction. Youths are fighters. They fight for
an identity in society, equality, the homeless, bullying, unemployment, exploitation, poverty and other problems
which the world faces today. All of them hopes for a world full of opportunities, so great minds can conquer
them and become better individuals. They need good morals and values to handle conflicts in a positive way.
After the message of Mr. Canja, Asec. Dexter A. Galban
the Youth Affairs and Special Concerns OIC, discussed the
AMBISYON 2040 program to the participants. In his session, he
gave away tips on how to become a better youth who can
contribute to the nation building. (1) Competence – Always be
open to learn. Learning is a non-stop process that is why one
must not stop even he/she already reached his/her goals. (2) Courage – Never be afraid to stand up. Standing up
means one is cocky or an attention-seeker, it is simply stating what one’s belief what is right and truthful. (3)
Commitment – Always keep moving forward. Don’t be stagnant, progress is waiting for you to move and reach
your destination. (4) Collaboration – Never be ashamed of seeking help. Asking for assistance is not a weakness,
hence it is sign of humility, showing that you are just a person trying to look for clarifications. (5) Character –
Always serve the nation. As Dr. Jose P. Rizal said, the youth is the hope the nation, young generations must have
the right character for they are the bringer of changes especially in the future.
After the discussion on Asec Galban, a forum was opened so the participants’ questions and beliefs be
answered by the group of panelists.
