ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT (2022)

I. TITLE OF ACTIVITY: AWAKENING JOY IN KIDS (Feeding
Program) 2022

II. INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT

According to Mary Howitt, God sends children for another

purpose than merely to keep up the race: to enlarge our hearts, to make
us unselfish and full of kindly sympathies and affection, to give our
hearts higher aims, to call out all our faculties to extended enterprise
and exertion, and to bring round our firesides bright faces, happy
smiles, and loving, tender hearts. “My soul blesses the great Father
every day that he has gladdened the earth with little children.” This is
Awakening Joy in Kids (Feeding Program) 2022, which was held on
August 11, 2022, by the Supreme Student Council Officers. We
conduct this activity to awaken joy and share food with kids. During
the activity, we have observed that the children are happy and feel
blessed with the food we give them.

III. OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY:

The main purpose of the event is to share food, awaken joy, and feed
kids in a particular community. This is a great event to make the kids
feel the joy of having food shared with them as well as to help combat
food insecurity and hunger in the community.

IV. DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

Food insecurity and hunger are some of the issues present in our
country nowadays. And since there is enough food left after the blood
donation drive activity held at Barangay Fabrica, Sagay City, the
Supreme Student Council headed by Honorable MARIELLA C.
DEMANALATA (President, Supreme Student Council) has decided
to share and make use of the food left to awaken the joy in the kids of
Barangay Fabrica, Sagay City. As everyone agreed, the student leaders
headed by MARIELLA C. DEMANALATA (President, Supreme
Student Council) together with her senators and SPC members ride the
NONESCOST van accompanied by the driver, traveling from the
covered court of Barangay Fabrica to Purok Paghidaet, Barangay
Fabrica, Sagay City. A total of 10—15 kids benefited from the said
feeding program. Although it was an on-the-spot event, the student
leaders were able to see and witness the joy and smiles of the kids.

V. SIGNIFICANCE TO THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY:

This activity helps to reduce food insecurity and hunger in

the community. At the same time, it reminds us of how blessed we are
and how a simple act can awaken joy in a child's life.

VI. LESSON LEARNED:

Always be grateful and value what you have. And sharing can make an
impact and bring joy to a person's life. Using this kind of activity, we are
able to help the kids as well as the community combat the presence of
hunger and food insecurity here in our country.
