INTRODUCTION

What is community service?

Community service is unpaid work performed by a person or group of people for

the benefit and betterment of their community without any form of
compensation. Community service can be distinct from volunteering, since it is
not always performed on a voluntary basis and may be compulsory.

Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to

become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact
on society at large.

I believe that the benefits of community service go beyond required hours. From
the people you meet to the places you see, it’s unlike any experience.

Community service deepens your relationship with God and with your fellow
brothers and sisters. It’s an occasion to spread Christ’s teachings and become
ambassadors for Christ. Service is contagious.

By offering outreach programs for the congregation, provides ways to serve in

His name. When we seek to serve others, we are motivated not by selfishness but
by charity. Through strategic community service, the church can share the news
of Christ’s salvation.
SECTION A

Location

Together with my fellow youth we decided conduct our feeding program at

Purok 5, located in Barangay San Francisco, Negros Oriental.

Beneficiaries

50 boys – 60 girls Malnourished Children

Proposed Project

Feeding program is the most outreached solution we could offer to our society.
Hunger is a problem that has plagued humanity for millennia, and it continues
to haunt us, it is difficult to see children suffer, especially from hunger.
Malnutrition is a common health condition which when the individuals
diet does not provide enough nutrients or the right balance of nutrients for
optimal health. . Poverty is the leading cause of malnutrition, and at a time when
we are facing a pandemic due to the COVID-19 virus, it has gotten worse
because many businesses and industries have closed to prevent the virus from
spreading, and many people have lost their jobs.
It’s an opportunity for Seventh-day Adventist young people in our local church
to collaborate together and be the hands, feet and heart of Jesus.

Project Objectives

The general purpose of the project is to raise awareness and improve the health
status of the chosen Barangay. Towards the end, the following objectives are set:
1. To increase the knowledge of the residents on the advantage of balanced diet
and nutrition.
2. To assist the said barangay in combating hunger in their community through
a feeding program and a symposium on the need of a nutritionally balanced diet.
3. To improve the overall health status of children’s in Brgy. San Francisco
SECTION B

Project Management
For the many underprivileged Filipino children, food isn’t a basic right but a
luxury that their families can’t afford. To organize a new program, helping these
children go up further and be part of the mainstream, where they are no longer
a liability to the community. Together with my fellow youth we provide adequate
food with complete nutrients to the children. Many children are hungry and are
sickly, hence they cannot perform normally at home and in school.

The main focus of this study is to raise awareness and increase the knowledge
of a balanced diet among the residents of Brgy. San Francisco in the Province of
Negros Oriental. It seeks to improve the overall health status of children’s, lower
the malnutrition in the said barangay and increase the knowledge of mothers
and care takers about the different food groups and how they can be
combined to make a balanced diet.

Overall, this project will focus on improving the nutritional health status of
children in Brgy. San Francisco. To be successful in this project, the proponent
is going to conduct a fund raise to collect money and use it as a budget for feeding
and other things that may be related to the said project.

Monitoring and Evaluation

In implementing the community service, all of us work very closely. The project
will be monitored through a participatory monitoring and evaluation framework
covering the entire community service. We are all very hands-on and responsible
giving the foods for the children some of my fellow youth they rendered their
service through teaching those children with godly songs.
Project Implementation Plan

This program also desires to give free meals to those children who were in the
particular place that we destined to go to. Feeding is a tool, which today
effectively enables hundreds of millions of poor children worldwide to be
sustained to their meals – in developed and developing countries alike.

If the community service (feeding) is well-implemented and designed it will

increase the number of children participating in all activities. I will be going to
explain the importance of the said activity especially the feeding program and
explained to them the benefits on children include alleviating hunger, reducing
micronutrient deficiency and preventing underweight. Doing active community
service will help to raise awareness about the project in the community. Creating
a community service (feeding) plan can help you 1) structure and target your
efforts before you commit any resources; and (2) track what needs to happen and
when. After the program conduct a follow up weighing schedule to the identified
children. I ensure that the activities I made is effective and efficient for children.

Say hello to happy children, the District 12 Youth gave away

nutritious foods at San Francisco. With the purpose of thanking and
praising God for the blessing which He bestows, this was made
possible.

“I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to

support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how
He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35.

God in the spread of the truth, is a pearl that you can send
