TITLE: “SME CARES: SAVE THE EARTH, PLANT MORE

TREES”

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

We depend entirely on a healthy natural environment for our wealth

and well- being. It is vital to our economy and social structures, our homes
and neighborhoods, our capacity to construct things, and to our health and
happiness. The protection and preservation of the environment is one of the
important measures to combat the continuous destruction of our Mother
Earth, which we tend to ignore. As the human activities continue, the natural
environment is also being destroyed. However, it’s never too late to make our
actions in order to save the environment.
Hence, there is a need for a collaborative effort between the state and
its citizens to combat the loss of our natural resources and rejuvenate our
environment by undertaking tree planting activities and providing effective
measures for their maintenance and sustainability. Therefore, this program will
be implemented in Barangay Kaulangohan, Caibiran, Biliran in order to
increase the amount of trees in the locality. This activity will not just be
beneficial for the said barangay, but it also prevents the worsening results of
 global warming throughout the world. This program will be implemented in the
site that the barangay officials would permit the students to do the tree planting
activity with the recommendation of the Department of Environment and
Natural Resources (DENR).

OBJECTIVES:

The general purpose of the project is to improve the environment of the

locality.
Towards this end, the following objectives are met:

a. inculcate among participants the value of community service and

social responsibility;
b. instill among the participants the importance of protecting and
preserving the eco- system; and
c. connect th e participants and th e residents of the barangay to the
benefits of trees to foster environmental stewardship.

Guidelines:

The guidelines are as follows:

1. The participants of the tree planting activity should be at the waiting area
before the designated time.
2. Plants/trees to be planted are already prepared in the area. The seedlings to
be used were provided by the Department of Environment and Natural
Resources (DENR)
3. They should bring materials for planting like bolo, mini shovel, etc.
4. The participants should make a tree guard to protect the trees.
5. Each participant will be given a permit/waiver.
6. Barangay Kaulangohan Officials will be assisting the participants for security
purposes.
