II. Project Summary

Danlag National High School’ s location is a flood and Landslide prone area with the said
disasters the School is proposing a project entitled “Retaining Wall o Project Riprap” to
prevent natural disasters such as Landslide, Earthquake and Flashflood and to maintain a
safe friendly school environment.
To make this project successful and attainable Danlag NHS together with SDRR association
is asking for Financial help and support from Barangay LGU of Barangay Danlag Tampakan
South Cotabato.

III. Project Background

Retaining wall or Riprap are relatively rigid walls for supporting soil laterally so that it can be
retained at different levels on the two sides. Retaining walls are structures designed to retain
soil to slope that it would not naturally keep to. They are used to bound soil between two
different elevations often in areas of terrain possessing undesirable slopes in an area in
order to avoid hazardous collapsing or landslides.
Danlag National High School is Located at Sitio Kawayan B, Danlag, Tampakan , South
Cotabato. The school’s geographic location is at hill top and a landslide prone area.
Common problem of todays unexpected disaster is earthquake, Flashflood and landslide
with the said Disasters that is happening SDRR association , School Principal and Barangay
LGU, we come up with the project of a Retaining wall or Riprap as a project to avoid
landslide and provide saferty to students, teachers and stakeholders in the school.

IV. Project Objective

The project aims to construct Retaining Wall o Project Riprap at the fron side of the
school.
It specifically aims to:

 Prevent landslide and flashflood in the school area of Danlag National High School.
 Secure safety of Students, Teachers and stakeholders of Danlag National High
School.
 Provide a safe and secure School Environment to Students, Teachers, Visitors and
Stakeholders.
 Serve as comfortable venue for learners to study
