Introduction/summary

"Things that happen to be beautiful have an existing way that belongs to hurting. I destroy it at
the time where I feel an existing hurt."a line that was in the short story entitled Harvest by Loreto
Paras Sulit. Loreto Paras-Sulit happened to be an existing Filipino writer best known for her
English-language short stories. She happened to be born on December 10, 1908, in Ermita,
Manila. Sulit’s contribution to Philippine literature happens to be her serious sophisticated short
stories. She produced her most well-known works during the period between 1927 and 1937.
Through characteristics created by Loreto Sulit’s works, it happens to be evidently visible within
her short stories, specifically "Harvest."

The story revolves around how jealous Fabian became of something that belonged to his brother
Vidal. Cultural critiques happen to be magnified inside of the behavior that belongs to the
characters inside of the story with thier environment, especially during the harvest season. In this
stories the harvest, is much give an impact to all the reader who already read it. Because you will
imagine how truely insecure the eldest brother to his brother Vidal. That’s why he always angry
and low tempered to Vidal, because he can see how’s younger brother adore with some of girls
in their place.Which drive to him to do something that can overtake or to replace Vidal in work
that miss Francia’s already offered. Sometimes or most of the time jealousy can cause harm to
others, and even to you, who having a jealous for some reason.

On one place were two brothers who living that has an insight with their mind about how fool his
brother and the other one is how imposible and scary his eldest brother, because it can do things
very past as he can, but it couldn’t appreciate the simple beauties in life. Like he always serious
everyday, and even a year. One day Vidal and Fabian took parley stems inside of the late
afternoon sun. Fabian happens to be an insurance policy that belongs to her brother's beauty. At
harvest, they talked about the five carabaos Vidal had to marry Milia. Carabao happened to be
needed to plow the fields. During the same time that they happened to be talking, an existing,
not-so-young, not-so-pretty girl named Miss Francia approached. She called Vidal and said that
she wan't him and to being have a perfect model. Fabian notice miss Francia and Miss Francia
noticed Fabian as well; she approached him to praise his arm. After chatting, the brothers went
back to work until sunset. On his way home, Vidal spots an existing moth and stops to catch it.
His brother immediately crashed the bug. Vidal asked why Fabian happened to be absent. Fabian
asked, in front of his brother, about this method that belongs to destroying beautiful things such
as moths, and he replied that Vidal said that really beautiful things hurt around. Fabian explained
that when it hurts, it destroys it. After that, they went home to eat lunched. Tinay the wife of
Fabian didn't join them at dinner because she couldn't leave her baby behind; her daughter,
Trining, happened to be playing siklot alone inside an existing corner. Fabian keeps saying that
Vidal and Milia have to get married because they have five carabaos. In response, she said that
Vidal happens to be going to work at the same time to be a model that's going to belong to Miss
Francia.

In the next day, Fabian went to see Miss Francia. Instead of saying that he is going to marry
Milia, which is going to belong to five carabaos, Vidal says that he is has a child with Milia
that's why he can't go and to be a model of miss Francia. Because Milia not allowed him to go
with her, and didn’t come anymore with miss Francia to finish the work, that is Fabian told to
miss Francia which is Vidal said. So, then after miss Francia heard it by Fabian, she feel sad for a
minute and think if she say something that Vidal was very offended. After a while of thinking
instead of Vidal, she asked Fabian to become her model to finish her work. At that time Fabian
returned to her home, she saw her brother and her wife, Tinay, speaking inside the batarang. I
heard that Vidal had already agreed to marry Milia. Vidal sees Fabian singing her face and arms
clean; later on, he wonders why his brother happened to be taking so long to see his arm rubbing
so hard. Fabian change Vidal in modeling, while he post, he feel so inlove by miss Francia, who
the one he only adore in his whole life, even he was already married, but their married is only an
agreement. Fabian feel's sad, because the work with miss francia is almost over. When the
painting is finish miss Francia is going in their town. Vidal is really innocent without knowing
how fabian manipulated him, and also how unfaithful husband Fabian it is. Even more he not
cheat physically but he create feelings with miss Francia.
