1. Specific Learning Outcomes:


By the end of the topic the students will be able to
 Learn about various animals and their habitats.
 Tell about wild animals, domestic animals and pets.
 Talk about foods of animals.
 Tell about how various animals are useful to us.

2. Pedagogical Strategies (Teaching Methodology)


 Teachers can introduce a topic by asking the students, have they even been to a
zoo?
 Various toys of animals are shown to them to create an interest in the world of
animals.
 Students will be encouraged to talk about animals they have seen.
 Explanation of the entire content of the lesson will be carried out very well.

3. Group activities/experiments/hands-on-learning
 Students are asked to bring any toy animal and to talk about its habitat, the food
it eats, whether it’s a domestic, wild animal or a pet and its uses (if any).

4. Interdisciplinary Linkages and infusion of Life-skills, Values, Gender sensitivity etc.


 Students can get a moral value of do not letting the food get wasted. Leftover
food can be fed to animals, birds, inside and outside the house.
 Life skill –
We can inculcate a habit of avoiding usage plastic bags, in children. Animals like
cows die when they consume these while eating leftover food or pills of fruits
and vegetables. Animals in water too die because some people throw such
things into water.

5. Resources used (including ICT)


 Text book.
 Google images to form illustrative examples, and in forming teaching aids.

6. Assessment items for measuring the attainment of the Learning Outcome


 A short question and answer session based on the entire content of the lesson.
 Participation of students during solving textbook exercises.

7. Feedback and Remedial Teaching Plan


 A satisfied feedback is expected from most of the students.
 Reteaching of the required part of the lesson can be a part of remedial teaching
plan.

8. Inclusive Practices
 Equal opportunity will be given to students to answer, during the question and
answer session.

9. Creating Cross-Curricular Linkages


 Topic can be very well related to English Grammar topic:
 Nouns – Zoo, jungles are places.
All animal names are names.
Wool, leather, honey, eggs are things.

10. Special emphasis on Integrating Arts in education


 To draw or stick 2 pictures each of plant eaters, flesh eaters, and of animals that
eat both.
 Students are encouraged to make animal puppets.
 Playing – making of hand shadow of animals and identifying them.
