There is a very popular teaching that was promoted by Chuck Missler of Koinonia House. I am not sure who originated the teaching. But Mr. Missler
brought it to prominence. This teaching states that the meanings of the names of those listed is a type of bible code showing the Gospel plan of salvation
as understood by orthodox Christianity and a large part of those in the Messianic/Hebrew Roots fellowships. Does this supposed Bible Code pass the test
of verification?

This plan goes as follows:

• Mankind sinned and needed to be redeemed

• God took on a human body to bring about this redemption
• The first point is supported in Scripture
• The second point is not.
Mr. Missler vs. Hebrew Lexicons
Mr. Missler's Given Meanings Meanings Found in Lexicons

• Adam — Man • Adam — Man, red

• Seth — Appointed • Seth — Compensation
• Enosh — Mortal • Enosh — Mankind
• Qeinan — Sorrow • Qeinan — Possession
• Mahalaleil — The Blessed God • Mahalaleil — Praise of El
• Yered — Shall come down • Yered — Descent
• Chanokh — Teaching • Chanokh — Dedicated, Initiated
• Mᵊthushalach — His death shall bring • Mᵊthushalach — Man of a dart
• Lamekh — The despairing • Lamekh — Powerful, of uncertain origin
• Noach — Rest or comfort • Noach — Rest

As you can see, there are significant differences between what Mr. Missler claims and what Strong's, Brown-Driver-
Briggs, and Gesenius' Hebrew lexicons give as the meanings of these names. We also have the fact that Mr.
Missler omits the names of the three sons of Noach which are listed in this genealogical list. The names highlighted
in green in the second column agree with Mr. Missler. The ones in light green are close enough to give Missler a
pass on. The ones in black do not agree.
Why is it important to show this?

• The truth shall set us free

• Lies will imprison us and give us a false sense of security

• We are representing The Almighty when we attempt to teach others what the Word says

• When we spread false teachings, we misrepresent The Almighty, thus bringing His name to
naught

• When we spread false teachings, we tarnish and diminish the witness of those who wrote and
preserved the true Scriptures
We MUST be like the Bereans

[Act 17:10-12 NASB20] 10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 Now these people were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily [to see]
whether these things were so. 12 Therefore, many of them believed, along with a significant number of prominent Greek women and men.

• They examined the Torah to see if what Paul and Silas taught lined up with Torah
• Once it was verified, they accepted it gladly
• The end result was that many became believers

We must expose those leaders among us who teach false doctrine

[1Ti 5:19-21 KJV] 19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. 20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 21 I
charge [thee] before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing
by partiality.

• Mr Missler passed away in 2018

• There is no need to bring accusations against him personally
• However, there are MANY who continue to pass on this false information
• We who know the truth on this matter must try to educate others about this falsehood
