Concept(s)

In this lesson, students will continue and finish their Teen Numbers Book. Students will
use math manipulatives (foam ten sticks and extra ones) to decompose the number
nineteen and twenty. They will decompose the numbers into ten ones and some extra
ones. I will check for understanding through the use of several strategies during and at
the end of the lesson. Some strategies include: identifying teen number cards, engaging
in a math talk, using manipulatives to show work, and an exit ticket.
