The book cover that I prefer, and also think is more suitable for the book is the

green one. I like it a lot mainly due to the use of green. On the surface, it may
just seem like green is a better colour in comparison to the dull colours and white
in use by the other book cover, however, I believe the green has a much deeper
meaning than just being the better colour. Green is the most prominent colour in
nature, which in this case is ironic since this story is about artificially cloned
humans. Without having read the story, the cover appears to just show some kids
playing in a field which seems very typical however after the reader is made aware
of the fact this story is about clones, the nuance is discovered. On the other
hand, a similar nuance is apparent on the opposing book cover, where a girl appears
to be behind white bars which seems like a representation of the fact that the
clones are imprisoned in the school. This nuance is also only discovered after the
story has been read enough which is why I believe that plot wise both the covers
are similiar.

The composition of both covers is very different. The text on the first cover seems
very unorganised and almost discomforting to read, whereas the text on the second
cover is a lot more subtle and organised. While I believe the first cover being
uncomfortable is a good representation of how the entire story is to read, I
believe that the illustrator could have made it less messy, but more uncomforting
by using something such as odd colours and an abstract font. For this reason, I
much prefer the composition of the second book cover over the first cover.
