CRITERION A
Product Goal: Make melodies out of light music and utilize them to reduce stress and anxiety for all
listeners. To create a song for individuals who are stressed out at work and don't have time to relax, the
song was created so that people may listen to it at any time and from any location because it is digital and
easy to access.

Learning Goal
When I started brainstorming ideas for my personal project, I had a lot of them, but as I was thinking
about them, I eventually realized that I am a really skilled pianist and that I am also highly capable of
creating a composition on my piano. I also admired classical music since it was really relaxing and helped
me concentrate on what I was doing. These are some of the reasons I opted to write a piece, since it
provided me with several opportunities to learn and develop new abilities, as well as to better understand
the people around me. I learn how to collaborate, think creatively, improve my organizational skills and
reflect upon the actions that I take in this project and how I can improve trials and my final product.

This map above gives one a basic understanding of how music helps one deal with stress

I conducted a study to see what people like and hate. People are quite diverse from one another, which
implies they have various musical tastes. Knowing this information inspired me to develop a soothing
instrumental piece of music that my target audience (stressed people) will enjoy.

The image given above is the study I conducted to find out if people with different occupations would
listen to my piece
Personal Interest:
When it comes to composing music, I thought out of the box in order to make a unique form of music,
something that people would love to listen to and relax. I would also create minimal lyrics and add it to
my song.
Composing music is a complicated and time taking task, it could take along duration to do so which is
why I think I need to manage my time and reflect upon the things I would create during this period of
time. I should balance everything I am planning to do for my personal project.
Brainstorming is what got me into music. Eventually, I decided to base my own project on fresh resin
creations. I discovered I had more than one passion during brainstorming sessions. Badminton, music,
cooking and creating designs are some of my hobbies. After considering these possibilities, I realized that
music is my actual love. I am a pianist who has passed Trinity level 2 examinations which encouraged me
to do something in the music field. I was motivated to write my own musical work after listening to music
by musicians like as.
Brainstorming ideas for the personal project.

The reason why I am choosing to create a song for my personal project is because for a past couple of
years, from when I was about twelve or thirteen years old, I have been interested in music. I started off
with vocals and piano which led me to think about composing music. I listen to many songs from my
favorite artists and always found the composition of their songs interesting. So, I got an idea that I should
try creating a song which would be very pleasant to the ears, something that one could listen to while
feeling stressed or anxious. I started to try different things such as play certain songs on the piano and
improvise those songs in my style. Improvising songs is when you play a certain song but change it
slightly in your own way. This helped me to think of more ways of composing music. Then I started using
applications which help you compose music and I began to discover and learn how I could create music
digitally. This personal project basically allows me to express myself through music and also heal others
through music.

This map states my favorite

genres which I love to listen
to when I feel stressed
One of the genres are
classical which also happens
to be the genre my product
is in
Product Goal:
Music has a wide range of genres which include rock, pop, blues, jazz, country, dance, hip-hop, rap,
synthwave, classical etc. Each of these genres have different styles of musical representation. For
example; when you listen to a rock song, you would feel energized due the way the songs in this genre are
made. If you listen to classical songs, you would feel relaxed and would probably have a peaceful state of
mind. It is almost like each genre has its own language or I would also like to think that each musical
genre is like a different accent to music overall.
I would be making a song under the synthwave genre or I would be creating a musical composition on my
piano. Synthwave/synthpop is one of my favorite genres and the reason for that is due to certain songs
like “After Dark” by Mr. Kitty, “Black Out Days” by Phantogram and many other songs have interested
me in making this certain genre. I also like classical music especially ones that I could play on the piano,
in this genre I very much liked pieces such as “Monastral” by Arden Forest, “There Will Be Rain” by
Million Eyes and many other classical pieces interest me and this is what led me to try to compose a piece
on my piano. In order to do so, I have taken some feedback from my music teacher. During my classes, I
make sure to have a conversation about how and what I can do to compose music. This helps me a lot
since my music teacher is someone I can trust and would have credible choices and ideas about this topic
that is music.

CRITERION B
Throughout my personal project, I learned unique skills that were quite valuable to me in conjunction
with the method of my personal project. The following are the ATL skills that I acquired throughout the
course of my personal project journey. These are some of the most significant talents because the
product's manufacturing procedure necessitates this expertise. My product was created with the assistance
of my piano instructor, who assisted me in creating the musical composition. I had to chat with her to
understand how I was supposed to jot down the music on a manuscript and how long the music would
last. Without this expertise, it would have been difficult for me to build the product since there might not
have been proper communication.

ATL SKILLS OF LEARNING GOAL

1a. Organizational Skills: I learned how to be prepared because a personal project standard necessitates
this ability. I realized how to properly prepare for my assignment. For example, I may separate my
mission into components that have criteria. It may be broken down into components such as studies
questions, mission descriptions, movement plans, fulfilment requirements, and so on. This will help me
complete all of the tasks on time, and I should be able to modify every aspect because I have prepared
things in that fashion. Organization also aided me in keeping track of my time. The division of my
objective into components helped me regulate my time since I understood when I should. I also set
timelines for when I should start and finish my task. For instance; I could attempt to upload and replace
the mission each day for a specific amount of time.
1b. Reflection Skills: Because I was prepared and controlled my time, I was also given the opportunity to
reflect on my objective and I should have taken a note of things that I should do better or revise my
output. I wrote certain things down in order to keep track of things that I could forget about and this way
of reflecting on things that I had done and things that needed to be done was a great way of keeping tabs
on stuff that I needed to do.
This was one way of keeping track of things
that were done and things that I was going to
do (This also shows the development of my
reflective skills

I wrote down all the tasks and dates which

helped me remember when I had to complete
them and how I could then reflect on each of
the things I do

ATL SKILLS OF PRODUCT GOAL

2. Collaborative Skills: For the product I needed to collaborate with my instructor to create my product. I
found this instructor on Instagram when I was looking for someone to create music with and so I found
someone who knows how to play the piano and other instruments which was a big advantage for me as
this could help me improve my collaborative skills by trying to create a piece with my instructor.
Collaboration is something that I needed to improve on the way to create my product and additionally
enhance my technique. Frequent remarks from this character well-versed in piano helped me enhance the
music. This helped me successfully speak and collaborate with others. Even though we had conflicting
views, we had been capable of making the out of the collaborations.

3. Creative thinking: This is a critical talent that I had to increase. Throughout my mission, I confronted
some problems for which I wished innovative answers. I additionally needed to suppose seriously and
creatively on the way to create my product that is a musical piece and that is something that I had to
suppose and apply. In order to finish my product, I needed to test with the music, via way of means of
growing distinctive melodies and taking note of distinctive songs from which, I should create some other
melody. This itself is an excellent instance how tune enables one discover answers and additionally create
something that they love. I saved song of all the pains I made and the songs I listened to for the duration
of the journey of my project.

CRITERION C

REFLECTION
I developed an interest in music when I was around 12 or 13. I was fascinated by how interesting and
beautiful music sounded to me and also started to wonder how do people make music. I started learning
piano and singing and I just wondered when I listened to songs, how do they make them? I never once
thought that I would make music myself or never even tried doing so because the thought of doing so
never really occurred to me. It was around the time before I started working on the personal project, I
remembered that I can play the piano quite good. Which is why I thought I would try to make some
music.
At first, I chose to compose a song on a digital software but I realized I do not really have a background
in digitally composing songs and so it would be complicated and would take very long so I decided to
compose a piece on the piano. I experimented with different songs and tried experimenting with their
chords until I finally found one that sounded perfect to me. I tried to make a piece but I found it slightly
difficult so I chose to seek help from my piano instructor who guided me throughout the process of
creating the piece. I showed her the chords and melodies I experimented with and my instructor helped
me modify the ones I created and make a full piece. My piano teacher really helped me throughout the
process of the product and finally we created a piece which I think sounds magical.
Song making was never really my strength but throughout this project it has slowly come towards my
strength side. I learned different ways to create a song and one of them mainly being listening to other
songs. This in a way awakens my creative side and I start to think of how I could create a song or how I
could create different variations to an existing song. Creativity has been one of my strengths so I am
really good at imagining the process and the outcome and let my creativity flow along with the things I
do.
This piece is a perfect stress buster and makes you feel calm and makes you forget about all the worries
and difficulties you have. This piece is the ideal outcome which suits the purpose of the whole project.

was conducted in
order to see if people

the ideal outcome of
the project.

A song can mostly never be made in one go. You need many drafts and trials in order to create a final
piece. I had many improvements done to my song and have had many trials throughout the process of the
song.

Given below are a few of my trials for the product

As you can see, it was these experiments that inspired me to create the final result. All of these trials, in
essence, open your imagination and pave the way for more and more ideas with which to explore and,
eventually, develop something unique, something that you can use to benefit others.
My piano instructor also assisted me in producing and improving this song; I showed my trials to her and
piece by piece we produced and structured a song that I was pleased with and afterwards made some
enhancements like as adding dynamics, arranging the song correctly, and so on.
Key Takeaways from the Personal Project:
This project has broadened my understanding in a variety of ways. In a manner, I've realized what you
can do to understand individuals by accepting reviews. I gathered several opinions from individuals I
know and asked them to listen to and review my composition.
I also attempted to figure out what people actually liked and how you could create something special that
a vast group of people would listen to.
This project has taught me so much in so many ways. I also feel that even as a result of this effort, I have
gotten more open-minded. I did a huge amount of research to attempt to comprehend various people's
choices, ideologies, and viewpoints, as well as how diverse cultures and personal expressions may meet
in the shape of music.
I've also grown more reflective, and I frequently reflect on my thoughts and actions throughout the
process. I consider what I could have done better or how I could have improved things. Reflection was
quite beneficial since it allowed me to retain information and keep on track while working on my project.
