Romanticism in Avatar (2009):
There are various aspects of romanticism, which are portrayed in the film Avatar. The
components of Romanticism that are vigorously highlighted in Avatar involve the positive
acceptance towards nature, priority of emotions over rationality or logic, and thinking about
uniqueness and individuality as something significant.
Jake Sully, the protagonist, attempts to connect with the Na'vi (another world) to tempt them to
give their property to people living on earth. Nonetheless, this changes when Sully discovers the
way of life of the Na'vi people and creatures more fascinating than his own. He chooses to rely
on his instinct and what he feels is appropriate for him to do.
James Cameron's Avatar highlights feelings, creativity and imagination through the characters.
An illustration of this is the feelings of Jake Sully through the entire film where he was first
baffled by his dysfunction and the truth of the world he lived in and his feelings on carrying on
with a totally different life using an Avatar body. Creative mind then again is introduced all
through the film since it depends on the author's innovative psyche. It has a decent inventive
angle due to its mind boggling scenes, thoughts, out of the world creatures and the surrounding
environment that looks so unreal. Feelings over logic is also displayed perfectly onscreen when
the protagonist tries to save his love interest in every way possible risking his own life at certain
points of the battle.
Importance of nature is additionally introduced in the film Avatar. The mortal nature of the
planet of humans and the delightful and grand nature of the planet Pandora is an example of this.
Jake Sully said to the Omaticaya people that their planet has no green and individuals of their
planet has killed their mom and will do likewise to Pandora, this underlines the significance of
the nature we lived in and the nature that we ought to live in. This represents people who are
reckless of ensuring and protecting their planet and nature.
