Dimensions
The cowl is 14 inches (36 cm) wide and 9 inches (23 cm) long. Depending on yarn weight and
needle size, the dimensions may vary.
R = round
*…* = The sequence between the asterisks is repeated to the end of the round.
k = knit stitch
p = purl stitch
sl1 k1 psso = slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over
1 circular knitting needle (US size 2.5 / 3 mm, 24 inches to 32 inches / 60 bis 80 cm long)
150g of Sport (6-ply) yarn; you can also use 4-ply yarn (sock yarn weight). The cowl will be
a little smaller then with the number of stitches given here.
Beads, e.g. Rocailles, with an outside diameter of ca. 4mm and a hole diameter of 1.5 mm;
400 beads will be enough
1 very thin crochet hook 0.75 mm for pulling stitches through beads

Instructions
Cast on 204 stitches on the circular needle, close the round making sure that it is not twisted.
Bottom edge
R1 to R7: *k1, p1*
Main part
R1 to R3: knit all stitches
R4: *k2, cable 4 back, cable 4 front, k2*
R5: knit all stitches
R6: *k4, k1 with bead, k2, k1 with bead, k4*
R7: knit all stitches
R8: *k3, knit 2 together, 1 yarnover, k2, 1 yarnover, sl1 k1 psso, k3*
R9: knit all stitches
R10: *cable 4 front, k4, cable 4 back*
R11: knit all stitches
R12: *k1, k1 with bead, k8, k1 with bead, k1*
R13: knit all stitches
R14: *k1, 1 yarnover, sl1 k1 psso, k6, knit 2 together, 1 yarnover, k1*
R15: knit all stitches
Upper edge
R1 to R6: *k1, p1*
R7: *k1, p1* and cast off not too loosely in this round.
