DIAGNOSTIC TEST:

● Physical exam- Your doctor may check your blood pressure, BMI (body mass
index), and waist size. They may also look at your skin to check for extra hair
growth, acne, and discolored skin, which can all happen if you have PCOS.
● Pelvic exam- To check the reproductive organs for masses, growths or other
changes.
● Blood tests- Blood tests can measure hormone levels. This testing can exclude
possible causes of menstrual problems or androgen excess that mimic PCOS.
● Ultrasound- An ultrasound can check the appearance of ovaries and the
thickness of the lining of the uterus. A wandlike device (transducer) is placed in
the vagina. The transducer emits sound waves that are translated into images on
a computer screen.
➢ more than 20 follicles (partly developed eggs) are visible on one or both
ovaries
➢ the size of one or both ovaries is increased (more than 10ml).
