TYPES OF WRITING
A successful text will communicate your ideas

WRITING TASK #1:
A FORMAL APOLOGY

What is a formal apology?


What would you reply to these doubts about the
instructions?
1. “…apologising and explaining what has happened”.
Do I have to invent the information?
2. Are paragraphs necessary? How many?
3. Should I write as my mind dictates or should I plan?
(Planning is time-consuming, though).
4. This is a formal text because it’s about a work
situation. What exactly is “formal” writing?
