ELECTRIC IRON

An electric Iron is a general household appliance used to press the wrinkles out of clothes and it
is an example of energy transformation taking in our daily life. Electrical energy to heat energy
transformation takes place in an electric iron. The electrical iron which we use in our homes for
ironing wrinkled clothes produces a significant amount of heat energy. Electrical energy is
converted into heat energy when an electric current is passed through a resistor. As a result,
the electric energy through an electric iron is converted to heat energy. In addition, the
electrical energy is used to produce heat energy due to the resistance of the internal
conducting material of the electrical iron. In electric iron, an electric current flowing through
the wire heats the wire, so electric energy gets converted into heat energy in an electric iron. In
iron, electrical energy is used and transformed into heat energy.
