Hello Dear Parents,

Welcome to Yeneung Kindergarten. I’m Sarah and I’ve been teaching English for over 4 years. I
really love teaching kids and I want them to feel passionate about English because it will
motivate them to learn English and communicate with me more. They are trying to talk about
their weekends, friends, and families with me. I have taught English using many different
methods used in other academies but I can assure you that Grapeseed is much more effective.
We use littleseed here which is a fun and engaging program. It focuses on the practical use of
concepts, as well as questioning and answering instead of the memorization of grammatical rules
and structures. There are eight units. The kids learn about animals, colors, action verbs, and
giving short answers. Their listening and speaking skills improve when we use stories, songs,
poems, action games and vocabulary cards. I don’t like teaching English like a robot and bore the
kids so I use different methods every day. For example hiding vocabulary cards and making
them look for them, using gestures to make stories more interesting and using different questions
to get the same response. Next, they will start with Grapeseed contents for 6 and 7 year olds.
There are 10 units and they will be learning about families, friends, more animals like zoo and
farm animals, as well as bugs, body parts, clothing, school tools, occupations. They will also
learn how to make longer questions and answers. I recommend practicing at home daily by using
the book/website to help your child retain the things that they have practiced in class. Thank you
for coming and listening.
